Use caution when working at elevated
heights and around unit openings. Follow
manufacturers’ instructions for ladders and/or
scaffolding. Failure to do so may result in injury
or death.
Follow manufacturers’ instructions for hand or power tools. Always wear
safety glasses. Failure to do so may result in injury and/or product damage.
Windows and doors can be heavy. Use safe lifting techniques and a
reasonable number of people with enough strength to lift, carry and install
window and door products to avoid injury and/or product damage.
Panel must be supported during entire
removal and installation procedures. Failure
to support sash may result in injury and/or
product damage.

Unlock astragal mortise lock and open passive panel.
Loosen handle set screw with a 2.5 mm hex key.
Remove two (2) escutcheon plate screws and dispose of properly.

Remove two (2) escutcheon plate screws with a drill/driver and save
for reuse.
Remove interior and exterior handle/escutcheon plates and save for reuse.

Dummy StopDummy Stop
Remove screws from interior and exterior dummy stops with a drill/driver and save for reuse. Remove dummy stops with a needle nose pliers and
save for reuse.
Remove top, bottom, and center strike plate screws and save for reuse. Remove strike plates and dust cups and save for reuse.

Support passive panel before removing panel hinge screws.

Remove four (4) #12 x 1 1/2" screws from each hinge on panel
and save for reuse. Place panel upright against a stable surface.
Note position and quantity of shims in hinge routes. Remove hinge cups
and shims from each hinge route and save for reuse. Dispose of old
panel properly.
Position hinge cups and shims in hinge routs on new panel at locations
noted in previous step. Hold shims in place with a dab of sealant.
Position and support new panel in opening and fasten using saved screws.
Reapply and fasten top, bottom, and center strike plates using saved screws.

an outswing
panel, apply
a light coat of
sealant to all
hinge routes on
panel before
reapplying
hinge cups.

Loosen set screw on exterior escutcheon assembly with hex wrench
and remove spindle.

Position saved dummy stops, with indentation facing inside of door, into
pre-drilled holes on interior and exterior side of replacement panel.

Insert spindle to align dummy stops. Mark and predrill holes 1/2" deep on dummy stops.

Fasten dummy stops with saved screws. Remove spindle from dummy stops and fasten to exterior escutcheon
assembly with hex key. Make sure split in spindle faces set screw on
handle.

Align handle spindle with slots in dummy stops and position exterior
escutcheon plate/handle/gasket assembly against door panel.
Fasten interior escutcheon plate using saved screws.
Fasten escutcheon plate using saved screws.

Place interior escutcheon assembly against door panel.
Tighten handle set screw with a 2.5 mm hex key.

Close passive door panel. Lock door panel by activating astragal
mortise lock lever to the lock position.
Close and lock active door panel. Check for correct lock operation.
