Use caution when working at elevated heights and around window and door
openings. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions for ladders and scaffolding.
Failure to do so could result in injury or death.
Tape broken glass with filament or duct tape before removing sash/panel to
reduce glass fragmentation. Failure to do so may result in severe injury, product
and or property damage.
Windows and doors can be heavy. Use safe lifting techniques and a reasonable
number of people with enough strength to lift, carry, and install window and
door products. Heavier windows and doors will require mechanical assistance.
Failure to do so could result in injury, product or property damage.
Follow manufacturers’ instructions for hand and power tools.
Always wear safety glasses. Failure to do so could result in
injury, product or property damage.
Support window or door in opening at all times until
fastened. Failure to do so could result in window or door
falling out causing injury, property or product damage.
Follow instructions of foam, sealant, and flashing
manufacturer regarding safety, material application,
compatibility, and periodic maintenance for continued
weather resistance of their product. Failure to do so could
result in injury, product or property damage.

Remove lock mechanism screws and save for reuse.
If new panel comes with lock mechanism, check that latch
orientation of the new panel matches existing lock mechanism.
See page 5 if orientation change is needed, then proceed to
step 7.
If new panel has no lock mechanism, proceed to step 5 to remove
existing lock mechanism for reuse.

Remove interior and exterior handle/escutcheon plate, and save for reuse.
Remove interior and exterior handle/escutcheon plate and dispose of properly.

Open active door panel. Loosen handle set screw with 3/32" or 2.5 mm hex key.
Remove two (2) escutcheon plate screws and dispose of properly.

Remove four (4) #12 x 1 1/2" screws from each hinge on panel and
save for reuse. Place panel upright against a stable surface.

Remove lock mechanism from panel and save for reuse.

Support panel before removing panel hinge screws.
Note position and quantity of hinge shims in hinge routes. Remove hinge
cups and hinge shims from each hinge route and save for reuse. Dispose
of old panel properly.

Position hinge cups and hinge shims in hinge routs on new panel at
locations noted in previous step. Hold hinge shims in place with a dab
of sealant.

Position and support new panel in opening and fasten using saved screws.

If new panel has a lock mechanism, proceed to step 14.
If new panel has no lock mechanism, proceed to step 12.

Insert lock mechanism into panel. Fasten lock mechanism using saved screws. Snug screws by hand using
a phillips screwdriver. Do not overtighten screws.

Close and lock active door panel. Check for correct lock operation.

Remove lock mechanism screws with a drill/driver and save for
reuse.
Remove lock mechanism from new panel.

Insert 1/8" at blade screwdriver in reversal slot on center latch.
Rotate center latch 180º.

Apply pressure with screwdriver and pull center latch outwards.
Push center latch back into lock mechanism until it clicks into place.

Procedure is complete. Continue with panel replacement at
Step 7, page 3.
Hardware re-
placement is completed.

Insert 5/32" hex key into reversal hole of top latch and loosen screw,
pull latch outwards.
Rotate 180º, push back into lock mechanism and tighten screw. Repeat
Steps 7 & 8 for bottom latch.
