Replacing cast iron clutch between oil pump and crankshaft on (T)SMC 100 and HPC Mk4
reciprocating compressors with clutch made of polymer material

Dismantling cast iron clutch
1. Stop the compressor and make sure it cannot start up inadvertently.
(it is recommended to remove the motor fuses).
2. Evacuate the compressor to atmospheric pressure.
3. Remove the screws, pos. 11C-1, and pull out the oil pump, pos. 11A-1, as shown in Fig. 2.
4. Check the O-ring, pos. 4Q-1, and gasket, pos. 11B-1, and replace them with new ones if necessary. See
the spare parts list.
5. Through pump house, pos. 4A-1, remove the two screws, pos. 7C-1, and washers, pos. 7B-1.
6. Dismantle the clutch by hand.
Mounting of polymer clutch
1. Replace the old clutch, pos. 7A-1, with the new one from the spare part kit.
2. Fasten clutch with the washers and screws from the spare part kit.
Tighten the screws to 50 Nm.
Note: Secure screws pos 7C-1 with Loctite 243.
3. Mount the oil pump, pos. 11A-1, with O-ring, pos. 4Q-1 and gasket pos. 11B-1.
4. Tighten the screws, pos. 11C-1 to 31 Nm.
5. Start up the compressor as described in the Operating manual.
