DOL 199 Silo Weighing Box
4 Technical User Guide
1 Product description
During the silo weighing process, a silo load cell registers the weight of the silo content and transmits it to the
DOL 199 silo weighing box. The DOL 199 converts the weight to digital signals and sends them to the controller
using CAN bus communication.
You can connect up to four silos to the DOL 199 silo weighing box. A silo has up to eight legs and a silo load
cell is placed under each leg. The DOL 199 can be connected to a total of four silos.

The DOL 199 is fitted with one silo load cell
as standard and one silo can be connected.
The DOL 199 can be extended with three
silo load cell modules, so that three extra si-
los can be connected.
(C) External 24 V DC power supply
(D) Connection box
The connection box is used for extending
cables from the silo load cells to the silo
weighing box. The silo load cells are con-
nected in parallel when there are more than
four of them. (SKOV A/S does not supply
the connection box).

130185 DOL 199 silo weighing box
The silo weighing box is used for silo weighing. The DOL 199 converts the
weight from the silo load cells into digital signals and transmits them to the
controller using CAN bus communication.
The DOL 199 is fitted with one silo load cell module by default and you can
connect one silo with up to eight load cells.
The DOL 199 can be extended with three silo load cell modules (130187).
Additional silo load cell modules enable the DOL 199 to support four silos.
Note that CAN bus module (132245) must be mounted in the controller.
The DOL 199 must be powered using a 24 V DC external power supply
(135752).
Order one 135752 per DOL 199 silo weighing box.
130188 DOL 199 silo weighing box with display
Choose silo weighing box with display if displaying of silo content and deliv-
ery start is required on DOL 199. For floor feeding, information is provided
on the amount of time that is left until delivery can start.
The silo weighing box with display has clear and legible numbers/letters
that can be seen from a distance, even in bright sunshine.

4 Installation guide
4.1 Electrical connection
Installation, servicing and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment must be carried out by quali-
fied personnel in compliance with the applicable national and international standard EN 60204-1
and any other EU standards that are applicable in Europe.
The installation of a power supply isolator is required for each motor and power supply to facilitate
voltage-free work on the electrical equipment. The power supply isolator is not included.
4.2 Cable routing
In order to prevent water from running into the silo
weighing box via cables and screwed connections, the
cabling must be made so that water does not gather
around the cable in the gasket of the screwed connec-
tion.
Supply cables
Silo load cell / extension cable
1 m
To avoid interference, the silo load cell / extension flex
must be separated from the power cables. Distance
must be at least 1 m.

communicate with it. The address of the individual silo weighing box corresponds to
the number (41 or 42) in he controller under Technical | Setup | Installation | I/O

CAN bus termination (external)
The DOL 199 silo weighing box is controlled by the CAN bus communication. To
ensure secure communication between the boxes, it is important that the CAN ter-
mination jumpers are set correctly.
If the DOL 199 silo weighing box is the last node in the CAN bus communication,
the jumper must be set to (ON).

4.7 Electronic silo weigher calibration
See the menu Technical | Calibration | Production | Silo | Silo.
Start calibration by setting the Calibrate/Set tara to Calibrate.
Enter the current weight in the silo in Calibration tare amount.
Enter the weight available for the calibration (Calibration load amount).
The more weight that is available, the more precise the calibration is. Min.
100 kg.
Place the calibration weight on the silo.
Wait until it is stable.
The calibration state changes to: Ready to end calibration
Select Finish.
If there is uncertainty about the silo content (Calibration tare amount), it
can still be calibrated and the menus continuously show how much of the
feed is being used. However, the indication of the silo content may be in-
correct.
It is possible to set the calibration tare amount at a different time when
you know the exact contents of the silo. You do not have to use calibra-
tion weights for calibration and subsequently correct the entry; instead
you set Calibrate/Set tare to Set tare and the known silo weight is en-
tered at .
Increase the value of Weighing stable, if the weight is not stabilized.
This should only be relevant if the silo is influenced by outside conditions, such as strong wind. The elec-
trical installation should be checked, if the silo is not stabilizing under normal conditions.
