Filter cartridge model 99 for oil filter for SMC/TSMC Mk2/Mk3 reciprocating compressors

The delivered filter cartridge, model 99, is a new compact type which may be mounted instead of the previous oil

filter cartridge, part. no. 1517-125, without any changes in the above mentioned compressors.

Filter cartridge model 99 is a complete oil filter unit where primary filter, magnetic filter, centre shaft and shield are

collected in one single unit as illustrated in Fig. 1.

Mounting instruction

Before changing the oil filter cartridge, all preparations in connection with the opening of the compressor must be

carried out in accordance with the instruction manual. In the following mounting instruction, reference is made to

the blue spare parts drawing in the instruction manual.

Previous oil filter cartridge type

• Dismount the filter cartridge in the compressor by removing the nuts, pos. 33M and 33P.

• The oil filter shield, pos. 33E, and the other parts can now be removed manually.

Oil filter cartridge, model 99

Proceed as follows:

• Leave the bracket, pos. 33F, mounted in the compressor.

• When mounting the new oil filter cartridge, as illustrated in Fig. 2, first place the gasket, pos. 33B, on the

bracket, pos. 33F.

• Place the oil filter cartridge, pos. 33A, on the bracket, pos. 33F, and turn it so that the closed shield on the

filter faces upwards. Then fasten the filter by means of the lock nut, pos. 33M, and the washer, pos. 33L.

• The lock nut, pos. 33M, must be carefully tightened to max. 4.5 Nm.
