WARNING
Risk of impact
Be careful not to injure your head when the fascia or rear door is opened.
lMove carefully when the control panel or the rear door is opened.
DANGER
Adverse weather conditions
Make sure that no water/liquids (e.g. rain, snow etc.) gets into the open system and the
exposed components, especially under adverse weather conditions, since that could
pose a danger to your life.
Be sure to take suitable precautions when working on an open system (e.g. by covering
components where necessary) so that fluid cannot enter the open system.
Observe the warning and information labels on the system.
Unless otherwise stated, grasp the components only by the green control elements when handling
them.
This system is equipped with a safety-tested power cable which must be connected to a suitable
grounded socket only.
Always hold the plug when removing the power cable. Never pull on the cable itself.
Lay all connecting cables in such a way that they will not be stepped on or tripped over, damaged or
crushed in any way.
Have damaged power cables replaced immediately.
Make sure that there is always free access to the electrical sockets used or to the electrical circuit-
breakers of the facility installation.

Safety
DANGER
In case of an emergency (e.g. damaged cabinets, controls or power cables, liquids or
foreign objects in the system) take the following steps:
Switch the system voltage-free immediately by:
lSwitching off the automatic circuit breaker or removing the fuse insert from the fuse
holder in the distributor box of the facility installation.
lDisconnecting the plug of the power supply cable from the grounded socket in the
facility installation.
lInterrupting the power connection between the UPS (uninterruptible power supply)
and the system (see chapter "Introduction", section "General power interruption" in
the operating manual);
lFor further system-specific notes, please refer to the operating manuals.
lInform the customer service responsible for you.
Never connect or disconnect data transmission lines during a thunderstorm.
Always keep the system’s ventilation openings free from obstruction to ensure proper ventilation and
to prevent malfunctions resulting from overheating.
Use only accessories and extension components that have been approved by . Nonobservance can
result in damage to the system or violations of regulations concerning safety, radio interference and
ergonomical requirements.
Note that there are only safety extra-low voltage circuits (SELV circuits) if you want to feed voltage
from an external source into prepared cables to install additional electronics (e. g. EMA connection).
To clean the system only use cleaning agents approved by Diebold Nixdorf (see chapter "Cleaning,
Service and Maintenance" in the operating manual).
Components with adjustable light effects are integrated in this product. Repetition frequencies be-
tween 5 Hz and 40 Hz should be avoided as certain light frequencies or flickering light sources can
cause epileptic seizures in some individuals.
Also avoid light reflections and synchronize the cycles wherever possible. Ensure that monitors' re-
fresh rates are as high as possible.

specialist staff. Unauthorized opening of the system or repair work carried out improp-
erly could result in considerable danger to the user.

Lithium batteries
DANGER
Danger of fire and explosion
The handling and replacement of batteries should only be performed by authorized per-
sonnel trained by trained or authorized service personnel.
There is danger of fire or explosion if the batteries are handled improperly. It is therefore
important to note the following points:
lAvoid short circuits
lNever recharge the battery
lAvoid temperatures above +100°C (+212°F).
lDo not attempt to open the battery by force
lDo not allow the battery to come into contact with water or fire
lThe battery should only be replaced with the same or an equivalent type recom-
mended by (see chapter “Appendix,” section “Consumables” in the operating man-
ual). Dispose of used batteries in compliance with national regulations and the
manufacturer's specifications.

2.1 Information in this Manual
This operator manual is intended to make it easier for you to get to know the component and to use it for
its intended purpose. This manual contains important information for safe, proper and economical opera-
tion of the component. Observance of these instructions helps to reduce hazards, repair costs and down
times and to increase reliability and service life. Existing national regulations for accident prevention and
environmental protection are also valid. The operator should ensure that every person working with or on
the component reads and applies these operating instructions. These operating instructions must be
kept in a known and easily accessible location and must be consulted in the event of the slightest doubt.
This manual provides maintenance procedures for the CMD-V6A. Refer to the system operator manual
for information about servicing other areas of the system.

6 Description
6.1
6.1 Description of Dispenser
The CMD-V6A dispenser module delivers media (such as currency) to the consumer after the con-
sumer's request is processed by the software and the network. The media is drawn from the supply cas-
settes and transported to an output tray behind the fascia of the system, where the consumer can re-
ceive it once the shutter is opened. If the media is too mutilated or wrinkled, or if multiple notes are
picked at the same time (i.e., a multiple pick), the notes go to the divert bin or a reject/retract cassette in-
stead of being delivered to the consumer.
The CMD-V6A is offered in a 4-high version and a 5-high version.

7 Maintenance
7.1
7.1 Prerequisite Information
You must understand how to perform the following procedures in order to complete this section:
Opening the system (refer to the system operating guide).
Placing the system in the service mode to perform a particular task (refer to the system operating
manual).
Removing power from the system (refer to the system operating manual).
Accessing and using T/SOP diagnostics.
Returning the system to consumer operation (refer to the documentation for the system control soft-
ware).
Module dimensions as defined in Table7-1.
Table7-1: Module Dimensions and Capacities
Minimum Maximum
Media Width 58 mm (2.283 inches) 85 mm (3.346 inches)
Media Length 105 mm (4.133 inches) 185 mm (7.283 inches)
Media Thickness 0.06 mm (0.0024 inches) 0.25 mm (0.01 inch)
Weight (of cassette with media) approximately 4.87 kg (10.75 pounds)
Capacity per Cassette 2000 fit notes to 2900 new notes
There are quality standards for the media that is dispensed by the cassettes. Unacceptable media can
jam the dispenser during operation.
NOTE
Although the dispenser can handle a wide range of media, optimum performance
is directly related to the quality of the media. Media that is not new but is accept-
able for use in a supply cassette is referred to as "fit" media. Fit media can be
used, but media with folds, tears, holes, and tape must be avoided. To avoid prob-
lems when the terminal picks notes from the cassettes, do not fill the cassette
with more than 2000 fit or 2900 new notes (these quantities are based on United
States currency).
