1 General description
This manual is intended for service technicians. The manual focuses on the connection
commissioning tool to make the ISYteq network configuration secure and fast without
special hardware and knowledge. It also offers the possibility to prepare configurations
in advance and make them available to the service/customer. The configuration of a
single network can be saved in a single file, copied or sent by e-mail.
The output of this tool consists of a parameter file („AUTOPAR.TXT“). This file is copied
or saved directly to the controller via micro USB cable.
After removing the USB cable, the controller automatically loads the saved file and per-
forms an automatic restart to activate the network parameters (no need to disconnect
the power).
1.1 Structure overview
1.2 Out of scope
It is not possible to read back the active controller parameters.
Single Unit access is mandatory
Configuration via network
Other parameters than those described in this document cannot be processed. This
algorithm is restricted to a maximum number of variables, because it is executed
during runtime on the controller.
1.3 Prerequisites
The installed software on the ISYteq controller must have minimum application
version 2.1.0.0. and PC with Microsoft Windows® 10 and minimum .NET
Framework 4.5.

ISYteq group network setup:
With BACnet MS/TP or IP up to 15 slaves per group, limited to a total number of 64
nodes for MS/TP.
BMS interface setup:
With BACnet MS/TP or IP, Modbus RS485 or TCP and KNX. Selectable protocols
depending on the group network topology.

2.2 Main screen
Fig. 1: Main start screen of ISYteq network configurator
In the main window the user can create the topology of the network, almost all settings
for a standard network will be calculated automatically to avoid mistakes during config-
uration.
This setting is representing the number of rooms (groups) that are connected to this
network.
This selection represents the number of units within the selected room.

Load Project:
Here the user can only load a project file which was created by the network con-
figurator (no other files).
If the user loads a project file which was created with own settings for the ”MAC
by Max group size” he will see the full project file with the correspond settings,
but if the settings have to be changed the user must be in the “Enable” function
(see Menu functions - Advanced). Otherwise he will only see the settings.

Save Project:
The current programmed display configuration can be saved here.
Version:
The installed ISYteq version can be selected. Depending on the version, the
configurator changes the topology and more or less functionalities can be con-
figured. Each ISYteq version has their own configurator interface.
By saving a file with a wrong ISYteq version the programme gives a failure feed-
back and the user cannot save the configuration file. In this case the user must
adapt the ISYteq version on the main screen. If this is not possible, the installed
ISYteq version does not match the selected version in the tool or it is the previ-
ous version of 2.1.0.0. and does not support the automatic parameter upload.
Advanced:
– Enable:
This function allows the user to dismiss the „MAC by Max group size“ setting (on-
ly for MS/TP network). In this case the „Start MAC“ can be defined. Hint: The op-
tion „MAC by max group size“ is known on the PGD1 (the tool used by our
service personnel when setting up this system in the past) as „automatic MAC“.
In addition, MaxMaster offset (placeholder) can be defined for a following BAC-
net MS/TP network on the same line.
Furthermore, the user gets the opportunity to dismiss the “IP by max group size”.
–Disable:
This option deactivates the selection field of „MAC by max. group size“ and „IP
by max. group size“ and causes the default or predefined network settings to be
applied.

Select a BMS type:
Types that are restricted by the group network are not selectable.
(E.g. group network BACnet MS/TP exclude BMS Modbus RS485).
For BMS Modbus or KNX:
The data points with write authorization can be selected from the list.
The base station address for the first master node can be changed from default,
other master nodes in the network get an incremental address.
BMS BACnet device ID for the first master node is defined on main screen (because
there is only one unique BACnet stack for group and/or BMS network).
2.5 Single group overview
Fig. 4: Selection of individual nodes
The number of displayed nodes depends on the group size settings in the main
screen.
An individual node can be selected for configuration by pressing the corresponding
button.
A warning message is always shown:
Opening the devices and connecting the USB cable is reserved for electrically
instructed persons or qualified electricians.
Electrocution through hazardous voltage will lead to death or serious injury!
Disconnect the unit from the power supply and ensure the power cannot be
switched back on.
Ensure the unit is voltage-free and isolated, earth and short circuit the unit, cover
or shield off neighbouring live components.

2.6 Single node screen
Fig. 5: Node settings for master unit
Overview of group and BMS network and interface settings that are already defined
at the main screen (here read only).
The effective BACnet Device ID and/or Modbus address for this node is shown.
If IP settings are selected, the parameters for this node are displayed here.
If BACnet MS/TP is present, the RS485 bus parameters are shown.
Definitive HMI settings (only in the case that this node is a master)
Slave nodes always get HMI selection “None” = invisible. All HMI settings that are
already present in the controller are reset during the configuration process.
The effective BACnet Device ID and/or Modbus address for this node is displayed.
If no IP settings are selected on the main screen, the existing IP settings in the control-
ler is retained.
If the optional HMI is not selected, existing HMI settings in the controller are overwrit-
ten.

2.7 Upload AUTOPAR screen
Fig. 6: Saving settings in external file for subsequent upload
Pressing the Upload button opens a Windows file explorer. Here the USB drive of the
controller is selected as the target drive. There the suggested file is stored with the
save button. The „save“ button includes a version check function (see chapter 2.2.1
„Menu functions“).
If the controller version is an another than selected in the configurator, the program
gives a failure feedback (see picture below). To save the file correctly the user must
adapt the version in the configurator or the installed ISYteq version does not support
the automatic parameter upload function.

2.8 Setup & installation
For setup and installation an installer is provided.
The installer „Setup_FG_ISYteq_NetworkConfigurator_1.0.exe“ require administrator
rights.
The starting installer screen shows the license agreement from chapter 2.3 „About
menu“. Require the administrator rights and follow the flow off the setup tool.

4 Appendix
4.1 Example for resulting IP and BACnet settings
Tab. 1: Standard factory-made network settings
IP by max group size: IP-addresses are calculated with maximum given group size for
all groups.
Without IP by max group size: IP-addresses are calculated with individual given group
size.
The resulting group size (written to an individual node) is always set to the maximum
group size within this network. Otherwise duplicate BACnet device ID’s could occur.
This is not visible on the main screen, but on single node screen.
The same procedure is executed for IP by max group size.
