1 Safety
The monitoring and controlling system ISYteq is built according to the state of technol-
ogy and the recognized safety engineering rules.
Operate the ISYteq System only in fully acceptable technical condition for its intended
use. Observe all relevant safety instructions and precautions in the operating manual.
Use proper safety measures to prevent hazardous situations which, if not avoided,
could result in a threat to life and limb of the user or third parties or damage the system
itself, connected units, or other property!
Have all faults repaired by an authorized specialist without delay!
1.1 Identification of safety instructions
The following symbols and notices are provided in appropriate places throughout this
document to designate the safety instructions.
1.2 Safety-conscious work procedures
Observe the following instructions when carrying out installation, adjustment or repair
work:
For carrying out work near low-voltage networks:
For work on the electronic components:
For all kinds of work:
Observe all assembly instructions.
Fluctuations and imbalances of the supply voltage must not exceed the tolerance
limits specified in the technical data.
ELECTRICAL HAZARD!
This symbol indicates a risk of electric shock when working on the equipment.
RISK OF ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE!
This symbol precedes activities where there is a danger of damage to the elec-
tronic equipment by static discharge.
DAMAGE TO THE UNIT!
This section specifies procedures and precautions regarding the prevention of
equipment damage.
PERSONAL INJURY!
This section specifies procedures and precautions for the prevention of personal
injury.
ELECTRICAL HAZARD!
Disconnect all electric power to the unit and ensure that the power cannot be inad-
vertently switched on, earth, short-circuit, and block off all neighbouring live parts.
Non-compliance can lead to death or serious injury.
