2.1 General Safety Regulations
This documentation is part of the product. Therefore, retain the documentation during
the entire service life of the product. Pass on the documentation to any subsequent
user of the product. In addition, ensure that any supplement to this documentation is
included, if necessary.
Any actions related to the use of WAGO software may only be performed by qualified
staff with sufficient knowledge to use the respective PC system.
Steps in which files are created or changed on a PC system may only be performed by
qualified employees with sufficient knowledge in the administration of the PC system
used in addition to file creation or modification.
Steps that change the PC system’s behavior within a network may only be performed
by qualified employees with sufficient knowledge of administration of the responsible
network.
Comply with the laws, standards, guidelines, local regulations and accepted technol-
ogy standards and practices applicable at the time of installation.
2.2 Indirect Safety
If automation solutions are implemented that can cause personal injury or major prop-
erty damage in the event of failure, you must take appropriate measures to ensure that
the system remains in a safe operating state even in the event of failure.
Give all products in a network different IP addresses.
Operate ETHERNET and PROFINET interfaces in separate networks.
Never connect a PC on which a DHCP server is installed to a global network. In larger
networks, there is usually already a DHCP server that can cause collisions and subse-
quent network failure.
Use only the latest security software.
Uninstall or disable all software components or programs on your PC that are not re-
quired for the intended use.
If there are access problems, check whether the e!RUNTIME runtime system is acti-
vated on the connected devices. Use a software tool (depending on the hardware) to
perform the check or use the Web-Based Management System.

WAGO BACnet Configurator
4Overview
The WAGO BACnet Configurator is an independent commissioning, configuration and
management software program. The WAGO BACnet Configurator offers a range of func-
tions; some are listed here:
Design:
BACnet Controllers can be created.
Structure:
The project and the BACnet devices can be logically structured within a BACnet net-
work.
Addressing:
Fieldbus couplers/controllers can be addressed.
Configuration:
The client and server can be configured in each individual BACnet Controller.
Visualization:
BACnet object properties can be visualized in the value browser.
The WAGO BACnet Configurator displays all configuration data. To edit BACnet objects,
the WAGO BACnet Configurator offers specific table views in which the corresponding
properties of the object can be modified. Typical table editing functions, e.g., “Search/Re-
place,” “Sort,” “Filter” and “Show/Hide” are available. Then the updated configuration data
can be uploaded to one or more controllers and saved as a project.

WAGO BACnet Configurator
5Installing
This section describes the system requirements and installation of the WAGO BACnet
Configurator and the BACnet service BACstac for accessing BACnet/IP networks. The in-
dividual terms are described below:
WAGO BACnet Configurator:
The Configurator can be used to configure and parameterize individual BACnet de-
vices.
BACstac:
The BACnet Configurator gains access to a BACnet/IP network via this service. The
service is included in the BACnet Controller installation.
BACnet/IP-Netzwerk:
Refers to a network consisting of one or more IP subnets that contain BACnet devices.
Note
Administrator rights required!
Administrator rights required! Administrator rights are required to install the BACnet Con-
troller. If these rights have not yet been authorized, contact your company IT department!
Note
Firewalls and virus scanners may prevent installation!
If an error occurs during BACnet installation, this may be due to an active firewall or a
virus scanner that is installed. It may be necessary to deactivate the virus scanner or fire-
wall being used while installation is in progress. As an alternative, manually accept the
BACstac in the firewall rules; this is never done automatically. Contact your system ad-
ministrator before performing either of these measures!
Note
Install BACstac to use the BACnet Configurator!
BACstac is automatically installed when installing the BACnet Configurator. Scanning for
network participants and their configuration in the BACnet Configurator is not possible
without installing BACstac.
Note
Activate the network connection to use BACstac!
An active network connection is required to install and use the BACstac.
Note
Additional Information
The WAGO BACnet Configurator is included in the product. This software from the down-
load area of the website http://www.wago.com under the appropriate product information.

WAGO BACnet Configurator
5.1 Installing the WAGO BACnet Controller
The particular WAGO BACnet Controller installation depends on the network used:
“BACnet/IP” Network
“BACnet MS/TP” Network
“BACnet/IP” Network
The WAGO BACnet Configurator has been installed on a PC. The PC is connected to the
BACnet/IP network via a switch, hub or router by a network cable. The usual require-
ments for an IP network apply here; e.g., a unique IP address and matching network
mask. This particularly applies to the products:
BACnet/IP Fieldbus Couplers/Controllers: 750-330, 750-332
BACnet/IP Controllers: 750-831, 750-831/000-002, 750-832, 750-832/000-002,
750-8212/000-100
“BACnet MS/TP” Network
The WAGO BACnet Configurator has been installed on a PC. The PC is connected to the
BACnet MS/TP network via a BACnet MS/TP router. This particularly applies to the prod-
uct:
BACnet MS/TP-Controller: 750-829
Note
BACnet communication is not possible via RJ45 interfaces!
The fieldbus controller (750-829) has two RJ45 interfaces. These interfaces cannot be
used for BACnet communication. With this product, BACnet communication is exclusively
through the MS/TP fieldbus!
1. Double-click on “WAGO BACnet Configurator Setup” to start the installation.
If the WAGO BACnet Configurator is installed on Windows 7 or higher, a dialog may
appear asking if the software can be installed. Confirm to proceed with the installa-
tion..

5.2 Network Settings for BACstac
If BACnet fieldbus couplers/controllers in the network are not automatically scanned
when the Configurator is launched, the BACstac may not be correctly installed. This may
be due to the following causes:
Active firewall on the PC
Incorrect network card IP address
Stopped BACstac
If any of these apply, follow the steps below
5.2.1 Check Active Firewall
If an error occurs during BACnet installation, this may be due to an active firewall or a
virus scanner that is installed. It may be necessary to deactivate the virus scanner or fire-
wall being used while installation is in progress. As an alternative, manually accept the
BACstac in the firewall rules; this is never done automatically. Contact your system ad-
ministrator before performing either of these measures!

5.2.2 Check Network Card IP Address
Note
Check IP settings before starting the BACstac!
The BACnet checks that the IP settings are assigned correctly. Make the IP settings be-
fore restarting the BACnet service.
1. Go to Tools > BACstac Settings in the BACnet Configurator.
ð The BACstac settings are displayed.
2. Click [Edit...] to open the BACstac configuration.
Note: Additional network segments can be added to BACstac through the button
