2 Safety
The monitoring and controlling system ISYteq is built according to the state of
technology and the recognized safety engineering rules.
Operate the ISYteq System only in fully acceptable technical condition for its
intended use. Observe all relevant safety instructions and precautions in the
operating manual. Use proper safety measures to prevent hazardous situations
which, if not avoided, could result in a threat to life and limb of the user or third
parties or damage the system itself, connected units, or other property!
Have all faults repaired by an authorized specialist without delay!
All remarks in this chapter are important and relevant to safety. Yet not all
information in this chapter is marked with special safety symbols.
2.1 Availability of the operating manual
This operating manual contains important instructions regarding safe and proper
operation of the unit.
This operating manual applies to installation companies, operators, building
technicians, technical personnel or instructed persons as well as electricians.
This operating manual must always be available at the location of the unit. When
working on the equipment, observe all instructions and precautions in the current
operating manual, the chapter on safety.
2.2 Scope of the operating manual
This operating manual provides information about the following:
– Assembly/disassembly
– Installation
– Commissioning and testing
– Operation
– Maintenance and troubleshooting
2.3 Symbols used

2.4 Safety instructions: warning and danger symbols
The following symbols and notices are provided in appropriate places throughout this
document to designate the safety instructions.
2.4.1 DANGER - Death/serious irreversible injury
Indicates an extremely hazardous situation which will result in death or serious
irreversible injury, if the safety instruction is not followed.
Example:
Electrocution through hazardous voltage will lead to death or serious injury!
â€Ē Disconnect the unit from the power supply and ensure the power cannot be
switched back on.
â€Ē Ensure the unit is voltage-free and isolated, earth and short circuit the unit,
cover or shield off neighboring live components.
2.4.2 WARNING – Environmental or material damage
Indicates actions that can result in damage to equipment or property.
Examples:
Environmental Damage!
Heavily contaminated filters can have a negative impact on production processes.
Depending on the filtered-out materials, contaminated filters are therefore
classified as hazardous waste and must be properly disposed of according to the
prevailing guidelines and laws.
Damage to the unit!
If dampers are abruptly shut during unit operation, the unit can be damaged
beyond repair as a result of negative pressure or overpressure.

Damage to the unit
This section specifies procedures and precautions regarding the prevention of
equipment damage.
Risk of electrostatic discharge
This symbol precedes activities where there is a danger of damage to the electronic
equipment by static discharge.
2.6 Safety-conscious work procedures
When working within range of mains voltage:
Electrocution through hazardous voltage will lead to death or serious injury!
â€Ē Disconnect the unit from the power supply and ensure the power cannot be
switched back on.
â€Ē Ensure the unit is voltage-free and isolated, earth and short circuit the unit,
cover or shield off neighboring live components.
For all kinds of work:

3 Technical Description
3.1 Product features and functions
The ISYteq controller is a microprocessor-based, programmable electronic controller,
featuring a multitasking operating system, compatible with the FlÃĪktGroup controls
family of devices, which includes programmable controllers, user terminals,
gateways, communication devices and remote management devices.
These devices represent a powerful control system that can be easily interfaced with
most Building Management Systems (BMS) available on the market.
ISYteq has been developed to provide solutions for several applications in air-
conditioning, refrigeration and HVAC/R in general.
ISYteq controllers can be connected in an Ethernet LAN to other FlÃĪktGroup family
controllers.
Each device in the LAN can exchange digital or analog variables with all the others,
based on the application program used.
The built-in web server supports HTML standard.
Other innovative functions include the possibility to display the contents of the pGD1
terminal in the browser, and to display graphs of data recorded by the data logger in
real time.
The Integrated USB peripheral can be used to update the controller application and
web app, in the flash memory. It is also used to download the logs from the
controller.

3.4 Models of ISYteq Display Panels
3.4.1 ISYteq Touch 2.1
This Touch 2.1 control panel is designed as a compact user interface to the
FlÃĪktGroup controllers. Due to its size, it can be integrated into rooms more
inconspicuously. Despite its small size, it is a complete and powerful control panel
that supports almost all functions of FlÃĪktGroup controllers.
The user will only see the controls on the display whose functionality is reported by
the controller. Operating elements that are not required are hidden.
Figure 3: Touch 2.1 display with a white frame
3.4.1.1 Space requirements
The control panel is mechanically designed for indoor installation in a standard flush
box (68 mm). If the room temperature is to be measured via the integrated sensor in
the control panel, an installation with a standard surface-mounted device box is more
suitable.
