1.1 ProtoNode Gateway
ProtoNode is an external, high performance Building Automation multiprotocol gateway that has been
preprogrammed for Lochinvar’s products (hereafter called “device”) to various building automation
protocols. These protocols include BACnet®

MS/TP,BACnet/IP,Metasys®

N2 by JCI, ModbusTCP/IP, and
LonWorks®

.ConfigurationsforthevariousprotocolsarestoredwithintheProtoNodeandareselectablevia
DIPswitchesforfastandeasyinstallation.
Itisnotnecessarytodownloadanyconfigurationfilestosupporttherequiredapplications.

The BACnet device instances will be calculated by taking the Node_Offset(default is 50,000) found in
WebConfigurator (Section 2.3.2.1) andadding ittothevalueoftheABankDIPswitches (MAC
address).Whenmore than onedeviceisconnectedto the ProtoNode,thesubsequentBACnetDevice
