Safety instructions
Ensure that every person working on the unit has read and understood this entire oper-
ation manual – especially the chapter on safety. It is too late to do this after the work
has already begun.
All jobs must only be carried out by qualified licensed staff or other individuals with
proper professional training and experience in the following areas:
Occupational health and safety regulations
Accident prevention regulations
Directives and recognized codes of practice
All skilled staff must be able to assess the entrusted work and must be able to recog-
nize and avoid all associated dangers.
Safety-conscious work procedures
When working within range of mains voltage:
For all kinds of work:
Electrocution through hazardous voltage will lead to death or serious injury.
Non-compliance with the regulations and the operation manual may result in mal-
functions with consequential damage and personal injury.
If the wrong connection is made, there is a danger to life if the wires are inter-
changed!
Before all connections and maintenance work, all parts of the system must be
disconnected from the power supply and secured against being switched on
again!
Ensure the unit is voltage-free and isolated, earth and short circuit the unit, cover
or shield off neighboring live components.
ATTENTION
Risk of electrostatic discharge!
When performing any work on the ISYteq units, make sure that you are statically dis-
charged before you touch the unit components. This applies in particular to work on
the printed circuit boards and electrical components.
DAMAGE TO THE UNIT!
Installation, assembly and maintenance work on electrical devices may only be
carried out by a qualified electrician as defined by VDE.
The connection must be carried out in accordance with the valid VDE regulations

ISYteq-WEB
Installation and electric connection
What you can expect
With the ISYteq control system a visualization is provided with the integrated WEB
Server.
The visualization provides the following access options:
With a PC via internet browser, access is possible directly at the plant as well as via
on-site intranet or internet
The monitoring and controlling system ISYteq is built according to the state of technol-
ogy and the recognized safety engineering rules.
Electrical connection – Network connections
The ISYteq network is a network based on BAC-Net for connecting various compo-
nents of the ISYteq control system (network users) in one data bus. The bus enables
the exchange of all information required for control and regulation between the users.
Ethernet Network Connections
Connection via Ethernet port using a switch
The built-in Ethernet ports on the ISYteq controller can be used to create multimaster
and multiprotocol networks, with transmission speeds up to 100 Mbps.
The controllers can be connected together via an external switch (see figure above).

RS485 Network
Connecting master unit with slave units using a serial connection
A multiple master network of ISYteq controllers can be created by using the RS485 se-
rial ports.
Such networks comprise:
One or more ISYteq controller (Master) that communicates with its slaves via the
Fieldbus RS485 serial port using the BACnet MS/TP protocol;
One or more FläktGroup controllers (Slaves) connected to the network via the BMS
RS485 serial port using BACnet MS/TP protocol;
Connect the control cables in accordance with the wiring diagram.
The max. length allowed for the network is 1000 m.
A termination of the cable with termination resistors is always necessary for RS485
connections in order to prevent reflections.
With very short cables and very low transmission rates, termination can be omitted.
The terminating resistors on the first and last device in the network must be activated
at the DIP switch.
The following cable is recommended for the bus line:
Type: Li2YCYC TP flexible 2 x 0,5 mm2:
Structure and topologies of ISYteq network with BACnet MS/TP
A serial network can consist of one or several (up to 64) groups and can be set in a line
structure with branch feeder. All ISYteq controllers can access this data bus. With
serial communication, the data bus must be terminated at both physical ends to avoid
reflections which can interfere with data transfer. Switchable bus terminating resistors
are integrated on the respective boards enabling safe termination.
The maximum possible number of groups depends on the largest group in the network.
64 nodes should be divided by the number of devices in the largest group.
This is the maximum possible number of groups.
Example calculation:
Largest group consist of 6 devices.
64 nodes / 6 devices = 10.67 -> maximum number of groups 10
Structure and topologies of ISYteq network with BACnet TCP/IP
An Ethernet network doesn’t have any limitations in the number of groups and doesn’t
need any terminations.
