New PT100 temperature sensor in replacement of the previous PT100 sensor
Fig. 1: PT100 sensor complete with socket, DKA sealing ring and adaptor with threads for G ½”B and G 1/4”B.
Sabroe part no. 3449.542
The PT100 sensor that you have just received completely replaces the previous PT100 sensors. The new type is
equipped with a G1/4B thread for fitting in the compressor block or in the sensor pockets of the piping system.
Older compressors and plants can be executed with a G1/2"B thread and in such cases you must use the enclosed
thread adaptor. This adaptor is executed in such a way that it seals automatically when tightened. Hence, no sealing
ring is needed.
On mounting of the new PT100 sensor always use the enclosed DKA sealing ring as shown in Fig. 5.
As this PT100 sensor is used with a different type of plug it is necessary to fit this plug on the cable instead of the
former one. The procedure is described below.
Mounting
The plug is taken apart by turning union nut pos. A whereby the top pos. B can be removed and the cable fitted as
shown in the following draft, Fig. 2, as well as in the schematic control diagram in Fig. 4 from the current wiring
diagram.

The stated numbers - shown in Fig. 3 - are cast into the end surfaces of the plug in very small figures.

On refitting the plug, a tap in the socket in pos. D will fit into the slot shown in Fig. 3 and this way ensure that the
electrical connection is correct.
The complete plug can be dismantled from the PT100 sensor by turning union nut pos. C. This can be done without
depressurizing the refrigeration plant.
Before the union pos. C is tightened, it is possible, by a careful turning of the electric plug/socket, to obtain a correct
orientation of the cable entry.
With the new PT100 sensor it is further possible to remove sensor element pos. D without depressurizing the
refrigeration plant. This is done by an initial dismantling of the plug followed by a removal of the sensor element by
means of a pair of pointed pliers.
When mounting the sensor element, sealing ring pos. E must be fitted.
