Mounting of new type of suction filter for SABCube screw compressor
Dismantling the suction filter
Danger!
Before dismantling the compressor, do the following:
Make sure that the compressor cannot start up inadvertently.
Remove the motor fuses.
Evacuate the compressor to atmospheric pressure.
The suction filter, pos. 317, is mounted by the compressor suction throttle valve as shown in Fig. 1.
Warning!
Before dismantling the cover, pos. 315, check if there is an SSSTV by-pass valve mounted on the compressor unit.
If so, the cover, pos. 315, must be remounted in the same position as it was before the dismantling.
Mark the position of the cover against the compressor.

Dismantle the 12 bolts, pos. 302, and take out the cover, pos. 315, by means of two screws, pos. 302, which should
be mounted in the threaded holes, pos A, as shown in Fig. 2.

Carefully pull out the suction filter and the flange, Fig. 3, while guiding them concentrically with the valve spindle and
the filter housing.
Warning!
Before removing the filter, check if there is dirt inside at the bottom of the filter, 1, or by the oil channels, 2, see
Fig. 3. Remove any dirt with a cloth and/or a magnet.
If the filter is not held concentrically during the pull-out, the valve parts may touch the inside of the filter and scrape
off dirt from the filter which can fall down into the compressor. It may happen that the flange is separated from the
filter when they are taken out. Be very careful that dirt does not fall into the compressor suction chamber.

Clean and check for dirt. Be extra careful that there is no dirt at the passage from the radial groove to the vertical oil
channel as indicated with an arrow in Fig. 4. Remove any dirt with a cloth and/or a magnet.

Danger!
If necessary, take out the SSSTV valve cartridge for cleaning but be aware that the pressure on the plant side must
be evacuated to atmospheric pressure before dismantling.
