SANTISIMA TRINIDAD: Step by Step
Test-fit one of the larger knees from
Stage 85 underneath the cathead. To
get a tight fit up against the strakes
below, you may need to file some of
them away.
Retrieve the two sets of knees from
Stage 85 and insert one of the catheads
into position. Glue one of the side
knees up against the aft side of the
cathead, as shown.
Apply glue and fix the knee into
position. When the glue has dried,
touch up the areas of bare wood with
black paint.

6mm length of brass wire.
Glue each of the 6mm lengths into the
hinges. Make sure there is space to fit
the other halves of the hinges – read
through the next four steps before
continuing.
Adjust the lengths of the hinges so that
they are the same length as the depth
of the stern section of false keel (see
Step G).

The rudder should now look like this,
and it should be able to move from
port to starboard.
Place the rudder in position up against
the false keel and drill through the
holes in the hinges, as shown. Glue
nails into each of the holes and cut off
the excess.
