8On the bottom of the false keel, lower part of the stern

and the bow there will be a 6mm gap, which will be

covered by the keel, sternpost and stem in future steps.

When all the plates are fitted, and the small gaps sealed

with glue, the hull will be ready for sanding. To bend the

battens, immerse them in water for a few hours, then apply

heat with an iron, or use a plankbender.
