Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care
and remember to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in
place while you allow glue to dry.
Painting
We recommend painting portions of this kit during the construction. For details, please see the section at the
end of these instructions.
Remove the front floor, blank wall and front
supports from the sprue as shown above.
Glue the supports underneath the front floor with
their etched detail facing outwards.
Take the pieces shown above from the sprue.
Glue them together as shown, etched detail facing
outwards.
Glue the two assemblies together.
Then attach them to the base.
The step supports and rear edging.
Glue them into place as shown above.
The next layer is formed from these pieces.
Glue the base to the model, then add the three
side pieces. The notches should be on top, towards
the front. Leave to dry.
Take the base of the roof and side supports from
the sprue.
Glue them together as shown. Note there are (tiny)
arrows at the top of the triangluar pieces which
should point forwards.
The roof supports.
Glue them into place.
The front support pillars are formed from these
pieces.
Glue the pillars together note the lugs are on the
outer pieces.
Glue the horizontals into position.
Take the two roof edges.
Attach one to the roof supports.
Then glue the front supports in place.
Attach the other side piece.
Leave to dry.
The ridge and its supports.
Glue them together as shown. Now paint the
component parts of the model (see below).
Take the four steps.
Attach them to the step supports using the etched
detail to align the bottom step.
The two front panels.
Attach the front one using the lugs to align it.
Glue the other panel behind it.
Glue the roof assembly to the lower portion of the
model.
Take the side/rear fence pieces.
Glue them into place.
The rear roof strips.
Starting at the top of the roof, add each piece in
turn.
Then take the front roof strips.
And do the same starting from the top of the
roof.
Paint the roof (see below)
Add the ridge section.
The finished shrine.
Painting
It is easiest to paint the model at the points indicated within the instructions.
The red sections were sprayed with red oxide (car undercoat aerosol).
Grey sections were pale grey emulsion (DIY / Household paint).
The front panels were painted a mix of black, cream and brown using model paints.
The ridge was painted black, then gold was used for the circles at each end.
The roof was painted black, then drybrushed with the same light grey as the steps.
