Deagostini Lamborghini Countach LP 500S User guide

  • Hello! I'm a chat assistant familiar with this user manual for building Walter Wolf Model LP 500S model car. I've reviewed the instructions for assembling the bonnet, left air duct hose, and left rear wheel box. The manual uses both screws and double-sided tape for assembly. I'm here to answer your questions about the assembly process and the device itself.

The bonnet (engine cover),
shown here in its raised
position, allowed access to the
massive V12 4,754cc engine,
though only a highly
competent mechanic would
want to start tinkering with
such a complex piece
of machinery.

The left rear quarter window, left air intake, left outlet
louvre and right outlet louvre aren’t used in this stage, but
it is worth identifying them now for ease of assembly later.
The left air intake has an ‘L marked on the inside of it to
identify it.
The left and right outlet louvres have an ‘L and an ‘R’
marked on them, as shown.
The left air duct hose and the left air duct are both marked
with an ‘L.

The right and left air intakes are a
big part of the Countach’s
distinctive appearance, but the
rst prototype, designed by
Marcello Gandini, did not have
these iconic features. It was only
during later track and road
testing, before mass production
began, that it became apparent
that the cooling of the engine
needed to be improved.

functional parts of the car, but also to add a
stronger, more menacing touch to the
otherwise soft, clean lines.

Most of the Countachs panels were
designed to be tted by hand, providing
more strength to the overall structure
than would have been achieved by
making the panels suitable for
automated assembly.
