This stage is now complete. Store the main
assembly and the front fender upside down,
as shown above.
Repeat Steps 16-19 to t the left lock hinge
to the other side of the front fender.

Tighten the screw into the hole.Insert a 2.6 × 6mm screw (Stage 72) into
the indicated hole in the hinge.

Wrap some ne micro-mesh abrasive cloth
around a sanding block. Then lightly work over
the newly painted parts to smooth them. When
the surface of the new paint is level with the
original paintwork, polish it with some ner
micro-mesh abrasive cloth.
Locate any aected areas, then paint over
them with the matching paint. Give the
surface a few coats to ensure an even
coverage, then leave until completely dry.

Use tweezers to place the new
plaque, supplied with this stage,
into the position shown here.
Locate the plaque on the left side of the chassis, and
slide the pointed tip of a craft knife under one end of it.
Slide the blade along the underside of the plaque to
remove it from the chassis. Be careful not to scrape the
paint from the chassis when doing this.

Stages 62 and 63 showed you how to x any scratches in the paintwork, but you may
nd that there are also some bubbles or raised areas of paint. You can use the paints
listed in Stages 62 and 63 to x these areas.
In Stage 65, you were instructed to t the plaque to the chassis. The plaque was,
unfortunately, tted a little too far forward of the point at which it would be on the real
Countach. A replacement plaque has been supplied with this stage. When removing the
original plaque and tting the replacement, take care not to damage the model.
