The inside of each door was very

simple: lined in leather, with only

a small storage compartment

and a window crank. This gave it

a subtle elegance in line with the

rest of the car.

Connect the battery box to the ‘BATTERY’

socket on the LED tester. Align the

connector at the end of the cable from

the right front indicator lamp with the

socket labelled ‘LED 1’.

Insert the connector into the socket.

This should switch on the lamp (circled).

Once tested, remove the connectors from

the sockets, and the batteries from the

battery box.

Replace the battery box cover and

tighten the screw back into place.

Remove the battery box cover and insert

three AAA batteries into the box.

Right front indicator lamp Make sure that the cables are all the way

through the hole in the oor (red

rectangle), and that the holes in the posts

on the back of the plate are aligned with

the areas indicated by the red circles.

Push the pedal plate down and forward

to engage it fully with the cockpit oor.

Tighten the screw into place. Prepare the rear compartment (Stage 66).

Locate the step on the left, and the line

on the right indicated here by the dotted

blue line.

Tighten a second 2.3 × 5mm screw with

washer into the other hole in the plate.

Carefully pull the cables through the hole

to remove any slack, and position the

pedal plate in the hole.

Insert a 2.3 × 5mm screw with washer

(Stage 28) into the indicated hole in the

pedal switch plate.

Pass the cables from the pedal switch

plate (Stage 28) through the hole at the

front of the cockpit oor (Stage 29).

Press the sticker around the corner of the

rear compartment (circled).

Press the sticker down over the outside of

the rear compartment.

Press the sticker around the corner of the

rear compartment (circled).

Remove sticker C from the sticker sheet.Fold the sticker over the top and press it

down onto the outside of the rear

compartment.

Place the widest edge of sticker B along

the line indicated in Step 12 and above.

Then peel sticker A from the sheet and

align its widest edge with the step in the

rear compartment (arrowed).

Peel sticker B o the sticker sheet

(Stage 70).

Align sticker C with the post at the rear of the cockpit oor.

Align sticker D with the area below the post, as shown. Place sticker D into position.

Using tweezers, peel sticker D from the sheet.

This stage is now complete. Keep the cockpit oor to

hand as it will be used in the following stage, and store

all the other parts safely.

Apply sticker C to the post (circled), as shown.

Prepare the cockpit oor (Stage 71). Match

the shape of the steering shaft guide with

the corresponding groove in the front of

the oor (inset).

Place the steering shaft guide inside

the groove.

Push the steering shaft guide down to the

bottom of the groove.

Align the pins and hole of the steering

shaft support with the corresponding

points in the chassis (Stage 65), as

indicated in the inset.

Lower the chassis onto the oor, aligning

the indicated posts and holes.

Push the pins of the steering shaft support

into the two holes in the chassis, and t

the hole in the support over the post.

Insert a 2.6 × 6mm screw (Stage 64) into

the hole in the tab.

Turn the cockpit oor over and tape the

pedal cables to the underside, as shown.

Half-tighten the screw into place.

Position the chassis over the cockpit oor,

as shown in the photo above.

Half-tighten a second 2.6 × 6mm screw

into the hole on the opposite side of the

cabin oor. Once both screws are in place,

fully tighten them.

Lift the front of the oor up and position

the holes in the two projecting tabs over

the corresponding posts on the chassis.

Make sure that these two cables (red and

white) pass over the steering shaft.

Insert the tab at the front left of the

dashboard between the cockpit oor and

the chassis.

Hold the dashboard over the front of the assembly, lowering the steering shaft into the

guide, tted in Steps 1-3, while pulling the cables out of the way.

Insert a 2.6 × 6mm self-tapping screw

(Stage 65) into the hole at the side of

the chassis.

Half-tighten the screw into the hole. Half-tighten a second 2.6 × 6mm self-

tapping screw into the hole opposite.

When both screws are in place, tighten

them fully.

Turn the cockpit oor back over. Pass the

cables from the dashboard (Stage 53)

through the gap between the oor and

the chassis.

Half-tighten the screw into the hole. Tighten a second 2.6 × 3mm screw with

washer into the hole at the other end of

the dashboard. Once both screws are in

place, tighten them fully.

Then insert the tab at the front right of the

dashboard between the cockpit oor and

the chassis.

Lower the rear of the dashboard onto the

front of the cockpit oor.

Gather the cables together and move

them into the gap above the steering

shaft. You may need to lift the dashboard

slightly to do this.

Turn the assembly over, holding all the

parts in place. Then insert a 2.6 × 3mm

screw with washer (Stage 65) into the hole

in the underside of the dashboard.

This stage is now complete. The

cockpit oor and dashboard have

been tted to the chassis.

Take the rear body assembly (Stage 70)

and place it upside down on your work

surface. Then apply some masking tape,

from the periscope window to the

windscreen edge in front of it, as shown.

Make a mark in the centre of the tape.

Remove the double-sided tape (Stage 60)

from the backing sheet.

Place the double-sided tape onto the

windscreen, 1mm away from the edge,

aligning it centrally with the mark on the

masking tape.

Peel the protective paper from the

double-sided tape.

Prepare the rear-view mirror (Stage 60)

and align its stem with the line on the

double-sided tape.

Press the mirror rmly into place on the

double-sided tape, as shown.

Take the chassis and oor assembly from

Stage 72 and hold it upside down over the

rear body assembly, as shown.

Insert a 2.3 × 5mm screw (Stage 65) into

the hole shown above.

Lower the chassis and oor into the rear

body assembly.

Half-tighten another 2.6 × 6mm screw into

the corresponding hole on the other side

of the chassis.

Half-tighten the screw into the hole, just

enough for it to enter the chassis.

Insert a 2.6 × 6mm screw into the hole at

the bottom of the wheel box.

Half-tighten another 2.6 × 6mm screw

into the hole indicated, and then another

into the matching hole on the other side

of the chassis. Once all the screws are in

place, tighten them fully.

Tighten the screw into the hole. Tighten a second 2.3 × 5mm screw into

the hole on the other side of the assembly,

as shown.

Insert a 2.6 × 6mm screw (Stage 64) into

the indicated hole in the chassis

Half-tighten the screw into place.

Tighten the screw into the bracket,

securing it to the chassis.

When viewed from the side, you can see

that bracket B is in contact with the

underside of the dashboard. This will keep

it in place, parallel to the chassis.

Tighten another 2.6 × 6mm screw into the

corresponding hole on the other side of

the chassis. Once it is in place, fully tighten

the rst screw.

Align the hole of bracket B (Stage 72) with

the hole at the front of the chassis.

Lower bracket B onto the chassis, keeping

the holes aligned.

Insert a 2.6 × 6mm screw (Stage 64) into

the aligned holes.

This stage is now complete. The

chassis and cockpit have been tted

to the windscreen, roof and rear

body assembly, giving you a greater

sense of the nished model.

72) from the backing paper.

Align the door strut plate with the

recessed area around the strut.

Insert the tip of the strut into the hole in

the chassis.

Align the bent tip at the end of one of the

door struts (Stage 72) with the hole at the

left-hand side of the front of the chassis,

indicated in the inset.

Remove the second door strut plate and

align it with the recessed area on the

right-hand side of the chassis.

Press the door strut plate into place.

Lower the inner plate into position. Half-tighten the screw into place.Insert a 2.3 × 6mm self-tapping screw

(Stage 72) into the hole on the right of

the inner plate.

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to t the second

door strut to the right-hand side of

the chassis.

Prepare the left door inner and the left

door inner plate (Stage 73). Align the

holes at the sides of the inner plate with

the posts on the inside of the door inner.

Press the door strut plate into the

recessed area.

This stage is now complete. Store the left

door inner assembly and left mirror safely

until they are needed again.

Push the window crank into place.

Peel the left mirror o the backing paper.

Align the post on the reverse of the left

mirror base with the hole in the centre of

the left mirror housing

Push the mirror base into the housing.

Turn the left door inner over, and align

the D-shaped pin of the window crank

(Stage 73) with the D-shaped hole in the

door inner.

Place the left mirror onto the left mirror

base.

Tighten a second 2.3 × 6mm self-tapping

screw into the hole at the other end of

the inner plate. Then fully tighten the

rst screw.

Lamborghini Countach LP 500S

This shows the front fender with one

of the decals removed. Repeat Steps A

to C to remove the other decal.

Follow the procedures in Stages 62 and 63 to remove

the dirt and debris, and then clean and polish the

surface that had been covered by the decal.

Soak a towel in hot water and wipe over the decal. Use your nail to scrape the decal from the front fender. If

you use anything too hard or sharp, such as a knife, you

might damage the paint.

The front fender that was provided in Stage 72 had two ‘rallye racing’ decals axed to it. If you prefer your

model without them, the following steps will show you how to remove them.
