EU Air Handling Unit CATALOGUE
Rotary heat exchangers are used for recovering and trans-
ferring heat or cooling energy and possibly moisture from
the extract air to the supply air. The REGOTERM, TUR-
BOTERM system is particularly well suited for air hand-
ling systems in which high temperature and moisture effi-
ciencies are required.
Material: Galvanized or stainless sheet steel
Rotor: Aluminium
Rotor type: one-piece/sectorized design
Non-hygroscopic/hygroscopic
Reinforced edges, with/without
Foil spacing: standard/wider
Temperature efficiency for TUBOTERM is 5,5 % higher
than for REGOTERM.
Max working temperature 50 °C
Sizes:
Leakage
The heat recovery is equipped with a purging sector; which
prevents carry-over of extract air to the supply air side as
the rotor rotates.
Carry-over at the rotor seals can be prevented by creating a
slight positive pressure differential between the supply air
and extract air sides (p2>p3).
This pressure differential, which should be slight in order
to minimize leakage air flow rate, can be achieved by arran-
ging the fans as shown in the figure below and, if necessary,
by installing a pressure-adjusting damper in the extract air
duct.
Normal values of leakage air flow are at the seals 1–4 % of
the total air flow rate.

30, 31, 32, 33
40, 41, 42, 44
These sizes are delivered complete. A split rotor
can be delivered in the size 30–44 units however
then in a one-piece casing only.
50, 51, 52, 53
60, 62, 64
71, 73
80, 82, 84
These sizes are always delivered in the split version
for assembly at site, i.e. sectorized rotor and
split casing.

This arrangement makes it easy to achieve pressure conditions; which provi-
des leakage from the supply air to the extract air.

In normal comfort ventilation, the need for defrosting nor-
mally arises at an outdoor temperature of approximately
–15 °C if the unit has a non-hygroscopic rotor, and at
approximately –25 °C if it has a hygroscopic rotor.
If the extract air relative humidity is more than 40% and if
the supply air temperature is below –8 °C get in touch
with Fläkt Woods technical support.
