1 Introduction
This operator manual is intended to make you acquainted with the system and its intended use. Please
refer to the Safety chapter for the corresponding intended use (see Intended use).
This manual contains important information regarding how to operate the system in a safe, appropriate
and economical manner. Compliance with this manual will help to reduce hazards, repair costs and
downtime, as well as to increase the reliability and service life of the system. Existing national regula-
tions for accident prevention and environmental protection are also valid. The operator must ensure that
every person working on or with the system reads and utilizes this manual.
This manual must be kept in a designated and easily accessible location and it must be referred to in the
event of even the slightest doubt.
This manual contains the following information:
A description of the system and the components used (see Description).
Steps that are required for correct operation of the system and access to components of the system
chassis, fascia and safe (see Operation).
Steps and information about cleaning and maintaining the system (see Maintenance).
Information regarding disposal of the system (see Section5).
Information about how to access corresponding documentation (see Corresponding documentation).
Further information can be found in the operator manuals of the individual components, which are listed
in the chapter "Corresponding documentation".
This operator manual is intended to make it easier for you to get to know the component in question and
for you to use its range of applications.
This manual contains important information regarding how to operate the component in a safe, appropri-

If the power supply unit is powered, then the system is switched on by pressing the On/Off button.

The DPx interfaces can be used to connect high-resolution LCD monitors and to transmit video signals
with a max. resolution of max. 4096 x 2304@60 Hz.
Screens can be attached to DP1, DP2 or DP3.

You can connect a variety of USB peripheral devices to these ports (USB-A), e.g. separators or receipt
printers.
NOTE
Connect only devices and cables which correspond to the valid USB standard specifica-
tions.

2.2.3.4 LAN1, LAN2
The cable for the connection to a network (LAN) is plugged in here. The LAN1/AMT interface supports
Active Management Technology (AMT).
AMT is available as an orderable option for the EPC_7G. AMT is not available as an upgrade. AMT en-
ables administration of the system without support of the operating system.

Use only shielded LAN cables marked with CAT5 or CAT5e (for 1000 MBit). These offer

2.2.3.5 3.5 mm audio jack (In/Out/microphone)
Audio devices such as headphones, loudspeakers and microphones can be connected to these ports.
The three sockets are mechanically identical, although they differ in their function. The blue socket (Line
In) is an audio input. External audio sources can be connected here. The green socket (Line Out) is an
audio output. Headphones or loudspeakers can be connected here. Finally, a microphone can be con-
nected to the pink socket (Mic).
You can adjust the required volume through the software in the operating system or through the operat-
ing system itself (for example, the Windows operating system features a small loudspeaker symbol on
the taskbar which can be used to control the volume).
