Extron EWB 210 Series consists of a one-gang (EWB 211) and two-gang (EWB 212) EU external wall box. These boxes provide complete compatibility in fit and finish with Extron EU devices and assist with cable management. The EWB 210 series wall boxes can be mounted directly to a wall or to an existing in-wall EU junction box. You can use any of the two openings in the EWB 211 (right and left sides) or four openings in the EWB 212 (one on each side) with a surface raceway. The rear panel has two (EWB 211) or four (EWB 212) covers that can be removed to fill the openings that are not used.

Overview
The Extron EWB 210 Series consists of a one-gang (EWB 211)
and two-gang (EWB 212) EU external wall box. These boxes
provide complete compatibility in t and nish with Extron EU
devices and assist with cable management. Figure 1 shows a
typical application for the EWB 212.
This guide provides basic instructions for installation of either
model by an experienced installer.

EWB 211 and EWB 212 Mounting Holes
The EWB 212 can be mounted directly to the wall or to an EU junction box. Use the mounting holes shown in gure 2.

Installation
The EWB 210 series wall boxes can be mounted directly to a wall or to an existing
in-wall EU junction box. The illustrations for this procedure show the EWB 212.
Mount the EWB 211 in the same way.
Decide where to mount the wall box and how to run cables to it. You can use any
of the two openings in the EWB 211 (right and left sides) or four openings in the
EWB 212 (one on each side) with a surface raceway.
Fill any unused openings with knockout covers, as described below.
Knockout Covers
The rear panel has two (EWB 211) or four (EWB 212) covers that can be removed
to ll the openings that are not used.
1. Use small wire cutters to cut the plastic attaching the knockout cover to the
wall box.
2. Ensure the knockout cover is in the correct orientation and slide it into place.
NOTE: The larger knockout covers (see gure 4,

Wall Mounting
1. If required, locate the center of a wall stud and hold the wall box
where it will be mounted.
2. Mark the position of the four wall mounting holes (see gure 4).
Wall studs should be used where possible. If they are not
available, use appropriate fasteners to secure the screws.
3. Select a suitable fastener and drill the holes (see the wall
mounting holes table on the previous page).
4. If required, insert a grounding screw (not provided, see figure 2,
D
and

on the previous page).
5. Fasten the wall box to the wall.
6. If required, install a cable raceway to manage the cables.

1. Align the mounting holes of the wall box with the two holes
in the EU junction box (see figure 2,
B
).
2. Secure the wall box to the junction box, using M3 screws.
Completing the Installation
1. Run and connect cables to the device, following the
instructions in the device user guide.
2. Mount the device (see gure 6).
