utilities, and user management for TouchLink Pro devices.
All three software programs are available from www.extron.com.
Obtain the following network information from your network administrator:
DHCP status (on or off). If DHCP is off, you will also require
IP address Subnet mask Gateway

Wall-Mounting or Furniture-Mounting
The TLP Pro 720M or TLP Pro 1020M can be mounted directly to the wall or directly into furniture without a kit.
ATTENTION:
Do not install the TLP Pro 720M or TLP Pro 1020M in a re resistant rated wall or partition assembly.
To mount either touchpanel into drywall, follow these steps. The steps are similar for mounting the unit in furniture (such as a podium
or table). Figure 1 shows the TLP Pro 720M, but the instructions for the TLP Pro 1020M are the same.
1. Use the template for either the TLP Pro 720M or TLP Pro 1020M (available at www.extron.com) as a guide to mark the wall at a
suitable location. Ensure that you download the correct template for your touchpanel. Ensure that your printer does not scale the
template when it is printed. The template must be printed at 100%.
2. Use a wallboard saw or jigsaw to cut away the material within the guidelines drawn in step 1.
ATTENTION:
Cut inside the guidelines to maximize the contact between the wallplate adapter and the drywall.
3. If there is insulation inside the drywall, remove at least 6 inches of insulation in all directions around the opening. If the opening is
less than 6 inches from a wall stud, remove all the insulation between the opening and the wall stud.
4. If necessary, separate the bezel from the touchpanel, using the provided removal tool (see gure 1,
1
). Insert the tool into the
notches on the bottom surface of the bezel and gently separate the bezel from the touch panel.
5. Ensure all the locking arms are ush with the unit and check the size of the opening by inserting the touchpanel into it. If
necessary, use a saw, le, or sandpaper to enlarge the hole.
CAUTION: Smooth the edges of the opening to avoid personal injury during installation and to avoid damage to the
touchpanel or cables.
6. Remove the touchpanel from the hole and run the cables inside the wall to the hole, leaving enough slack in the cables to connect
them to the back of the touchpanel.
7. Plug the cables into the rear panel connectors (see page 4).
z Connect the LAN port to the PoE power injector or a PoE enabled switch.
z If you use the LAN port only as a network connection, connect a 12 VDC,
1.0 A power supply to the 2-pole captive screw power input connector.
8. Push excess cables into the wall cavity.
9. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the
locking arm screws (
2
). As the screws tighten,
the locking arms rotate behind the wall and hold
the adapter in place.
ATTENTION:
Do not overtighten the screws as this
can damage the catches or the wall.
z The TLP Pro 720M has four locking arms,
two at the top and two at the bottom.
z The TLP Pro 1020M has ve locking arms,
three at the top and two at the bottom.
10. If required, perform the initial conguration, using
the Setup Menu (see page 4).

Motion sensor — detects motion between three to ve feet from the touchpanel, and at least 15° from the center axis. When no
motion has been detected for a user-dened period of time, the touchpanel enters into sleep mode. When motion is detected by
the sensor, the screen display is restored and active.
G
Communication LED — shows the conguration and connection status of the touchpanel. The LED is unlit during normal
operation (the touchpanel is congured and connected to an IP Link Pro control processor). It blinks red if the touchpanel has
been congured but is not connected to an IP Link Pro control processor. It is permanently lit if the touchpanel has not been
congured and is not connected to an IP Link Pro control processor. The indicator can be toggled between enabled and disabled,

ATTENTION:
The TLP Pro 720M and TLP Pro 1020M can use a 12 VDC desktop power supply and are also Power over Ethernet
(PoE 802.3af, class3) compliant. Do not connect either power supply before reading the Attention in the Power
Supply section of the TLP Pro 720 Series and TLP Pro 1020 Series User Guide.

NOTES:
The TLP Pro 720M and TLP Pro 1020M ship without a power supply. Either the 12 VDC, 1.0 A power supply or the
power injector must be purchased separately.
If a 12 VDC and a PoE power injector are both connected to the TLP Pro 720M or TLP Pro 1020M, the power
injector takes precedence. If a PoE power loss is detected, the touchpanel switches seamlessly to the 12 VDC
supply without needing a system reboot.
B
Network and Power over Ethernet connector — for the TLP Pro 720M, this is in the top surface of the recessed area (see the
arrow). Connect the touchpanel to the LAN using a twisted pair cable, terminated with an RJ-45 connector. The connector can
also be used with a PoE power injector (not provided).
An Extron IP Link Pro control processor must also be connected to the same network as the TouchLink Pro touchpanel.
