Extron EWB 1000 is an optional accessory for mounting the TLP 1000MV touchpanel onto the surface of various wall types where it is not possible to embed the touchpanel in the wall. It has knockouts that accept raceways or conduit for running cables over the surface of the wall to the touchpanel.

It can be mounted on different types of walls, including drywall, wood, or masonry. The mounting holes in the back of the EWB 1000 accommodate screws up to 1/4 inch in diameter.

To mount the EWB 1000, follow these steps:

  1. Decide where to mount the EWB 1000. If mounting to standard wood wall studs, locate the center of the studs.

Overview
The Extron EWB 1000 wall box is
an optional accessory for mounting
the TLP 1000MV touchpanel onto
the surface of various wall types
(such as drywall, wood, or masonry)
where it is not possible to embed
the touchpanel in the wall. The
EWB 1000 has knockouts that
accept raceways or conduit for
running cables over the surface of
the wall to the touchpanel.
Planning
The following items are required
for installation, but are not
supplied:
z Extron TLP 1000MV
z Four mounting screws (Extron
recommends a minimum length
of 1 inch)
z Power drill
z Drill bit that is appropriate for
wall type
z Conduit or surface raceway to carry cables
z Screwdriver
z Level
Mounting Suggestions for Different Wall Types
Choose a type of screw or bolt that is appropriate for the wall on which you are mounting
the EWB 1000 (see table below). The mounting holes in the back of the EWB 1000
accommodate screws up to ¼ inch in diameter.

Mounting the EWB 1000
1. Decide where to mount the EWB 1000. If
mounting to standard wood wall studs, locate the
center of the studs.
2. Place the EWB 1000 against the wall at the
mounting location. Use a level to ensure the box
is horizontal and mark the position of the four
holes.
3. If required, drill four holes into the wall.
4. Insert four screws (see the table on the previous
page) and attach the EWB 1000 to the wall.
5. Remove the required knockout and run conduit
or raceway to the EWB 1000.
6. Run cables through the conduit and the EWB 1000 knockout.
Mounting the TLP 1000MV
1. Remove the faceplate from
the TouchLink panel.
2. Attach the cables to the
back of the TLP 1000MV
(see the TLP 1000MV and
TLP 1000TV User Guide).
3. Secure the TLP 1000MV to
the EWB 10000 using the
four 6-32 screws provided.
4. Configure the TouchPanel as
described in the TLP 1000MV
and TLP 1000TV User Guide.
5. Snap the faceplate into
position (four clips on each
side).
