Storage & Installation
• Only STERIS personnel should install the device.
• Prior to installation, store and ship the video switch in a dry location. See “Storage Temperature” in
“Specifications” on page 14
• Take care when lifting this device. Use proper safety precautions to protect against injury.
• Do not modify or tamper with AC power line.
• Don’t place anything on top of the unit. Make sure there’s enough room around the sides to vent any heat and
nothing blocks the fan vent inlet holes.
• The equipment should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment. If adjacent or stacked use is
necessary, the equipment should be observed to verify normal operation in the configuration in which it will
be used.
Location
• Use the device in a suitable environment. See “Operating Temperature” and “Storage Temperature” in
“Specifications” on page 14.
• Do not place the device near active high-frequency medical electrical equipment such as magnetic
resonance image (MRI) devices where the electromagnetic interference may be high.
• Do not install near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
• Even though the device is classified as surgical / medical grade, use caution around liquids as you would
with any electrical appliance.
• Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external
antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of the device. Otherwise, degradation
of the performance of this equipment could result.
• The equipment should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment. If adjacent or stacked use is
necessary, the equipment should be observed to verify normal operation in the configuration in which it will
be used.
• Do not install this apparatus outdoors.
• Do not insert objects into the device.
• Do not place the device on unstable surfaces.
• In all cases, refer to the specifications in this manual to ensure proper performance. Use of the device outside
of operating specifications will void the warranty and may cause permanent damage.
Power Cord
• Do not damage the AC power cord. Damage to the cord may result in fire or electric shock.
• Do not add extension cords.
• Insert the power plug directly into the AC outlet.
• Do not remove or insert the power plug with wet hands. Doing so could result in electric shock.
