2. Connect PC to HarmonyAIR Surgical Lighting System M Series
1. Ensure HarmonyAIR™ Surgical Lighting System M Series is POWER OFF.
2. Install USB-RS232 adapter (755717-735) to PC.
3. At Touch Panel Control Unit (TPCU), gently pry TPCU bezel away from wall with your fingers using the recessed
indentations at the bottom of the bezel.
4. Connect PC USB-RS232 adapter to TPCU serial port adapter harness using a straight through RS232 cable
(764333-680) as shown in Figure 2.

3. Launch STERIS Service PC Application – Surgical Lighting
Software and Connect Serial Port
1. Ensure HarmonyAIR Surgical Lighting System M Series is POWER OFF.
2. Double-click Service PC Application – Surgical Lighting Software shortcut icon on the PC desktop as shown
in Figure 3.
The application can be also launched by going to Start > Programs > STERIS Service PC Application –
Surgical Lighting > STERIS Service PC Application – Surgical Lighting.

3. The software is running as shown in Figure 4. The status of the selected serial port is displayed in the Status bar.

4. From the Serial Port dropdown list, select the serial port to be used to communicate with the HarmonyAIR Surgical
Lighting System M Series and click Connect as shown in Figure 5. The Status bar updates the serial port status
after the port is connected as shown in Figure 6.

4. Establish Communication with HarmonyAIR Surgical Lighting
System M Series
1. Verify software is ready to communicate with HarmonyAIR Surgical Lighting System M Series as described in
Section 3.
2. Power up HarmonyAIR Surgical Lighting System M Series.
3. Verify software has established the communication to the surgical lighting system as shown in Figure 7.
