2.1 STERIS Service PC
Application – Surgical
Lighting Software
Requirement and
Perspective
The STERIS Service PC Application – Surgical Lighting Software is
designed to provide end users a GUI application based on Microsoft®
Windows1 to monitor and service the HarmonyAIR™ Surgical Lighting
System M Series. The HarmonyAIR Surgical Lighting System M Series
is based on the existing Harmony® LED Surgical Lighting and
Visualization System. Users interact with the Service Diagnostic Utility
in the Master Controller through HyperTerminal or other American
National Standards Institute (ANSI) terminal emulation programs.
These programs lack direct information presentation and data
interpretation. This STERIS Service PC application provides users with
an intuitive interface to complete a service task, such as retrieving
system information, power supply calibration assistance, status
monitoring and parameter synchronization, etc. In addition, the
application emulates HyperTerminal so users are able to type and
send commands to the system. Users do not need to start
HyperTerminal in order to send extra commands.
2.2 Application
Functions
The basic functions of the software:
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) terminal emulation
Communication log
User access level control. Service, factory and development users
have different access levels for parameters and commands
Monitor system firmware information
Control lighthead intensity
Set lighthead into calibration or maintenance mode
Monitor lighthead board temperature, power supply voltage and
LED drive currents
Modify lighthead target current, duty cycle and ramp enable
feature
Synchronize non-volatile parameters
Monitor and set lamp runtime hours*
