GENERAL

The telpher hoist consists of a permanent installed telpher beam

(EQLZ-25). Lever hoist and lift chain are only supplied on special

customer request.

Use only manual lever hoist and chain which fulfil the requirements

of essential health and safety of the European machine directive

which are CE marked.

The purpose of the telpher hoist is to lift the electrical motor out of

the air handling unit if the for replacement or overhaul. To make the

telpher hoist functional, the extension beam and support have to be

erected at site.

WORKING LOAD LIMIT

Working load limit of the telpher equipment is 300 kg.

SAFETY INSTRUCTION

1. Only personal who have read and understood this manual is

allowed to operate the telpher.

2. Check the telpher equipment according to check prior to use.

3. Never use telpher equipment with more than working load limit

marked on the equipment.

4. Prior use, follow the third party user manuals of trolley, lever

hoist, lifting chain, motor and fan.

5. Do not use the telpher equipment for lift of personal, the telpher

equipment is for lift of electrical fan motor only.

6. Always wear protective gear as e.g. helmet, protective shoes.

7. Work in safety distance to the lifted load and telpher equipment.

8. Check with water-level the horizontal position of the telpher

beam.

9. On vessel and offshore installation, use the telpher only at plan

sea conditions.

10. Do not have unwatched load hanging at the telpher.

11. Two persons are required to install and operated the telpher

safely.

12. The telpher is for manual operation only.

CHECK PRIOR USE

Prior any use of the telpher make visual sure that no corrosion

occurred on the screw connection of telpher beam to air handling

unit casing. If parts have to be replaced use original parts only by

contact FläktGroup.

INSTALLATION/TELPHER BEAM IS

PERMANENTLY MOUNTED

OPERATION

1. Extend the telescopic beam and check that the lifting eye slides

freely on the telescopic beam.

2. Unfasten the bolts that secure the motor.

3. Fit the lifting eye with a block and tackle capable of supporting

the weight of the motor.

In certain cases, the telpher cannot be aligned directly above

the motor.

Max. permissible extension: 600 mm. A stop screw in the

telpher beam will ensure this.

Max. permissible load at full extension: 300 kg.

TELPHER BEAM EQLZ-25 AND TELPHER EQLZ 29 SIZE 068-216

INSTALLATION

1. Dismantle the panel and pillar over the door for sizes 126-216.

2. Slide the telpher EQLZ-29 onto the telpher beam EQLZ-25.

3. Assemble the extension beam to the telpher beam with the M12

nut (3b)and bolt (3a), tighten the bolt to 20 Nm.

4. Secure the telescopic support to the extension beam with the

M12 nut and screw (4a and 4b), tighten the bolt to 20 Nm.

5. Adjust the height of the support and lock middle section with

tow M12 nut and screw respectively (5a), tighten the screw to

20 Nm .

6. Fix the support foot with two screws in the bottom.

7. Check that the telpher runs freely along the entire telpher beam.

8. Fit the telpher with lever hoist and lifting chain.

9. Dismantling and reassembly take place in the reverse order.

OPERATION

1. Place a pallet between the air handling unit and the support for

transport of the motor.

2. Make sure that the main power is disconnected.

3. Maneuver the trolley over the motor and connect the lifting chain

hook to the motor lifting points.

4. Free the motor from any mechanical and electrical connection,

only qualified personal is allowed to disconnected the electrical

power supply.

5. Lift the motor from the motor support.

6. Push the motor in direction of the telpher beam out of the air

handling unit.

7. Stop the trolley in the middle of the extension beam.

8. Lower the motor onto the pallet and disconnect the chain hooks.

9. Reassembly takes place in the revered order.
