Installation and maintenance instructions
Connection specification
Mains
The power supply is connected on terminal block P1 N,
L, PE, 230VAC +-15% 50/60Hz. The drive system shall
always be preceded by an external fuse 10AT.
Current
Rated current 1.0A.
Motor
The motor is connected on terminal blocks P6 and P7.
The motor has been customised and cannot be replaced
with a similar one.
Functional description
Cleaning mode
When there is no control signal the heat exchanger rota-
tes 30° every 5 minutes.
Communication
The drive unit has built-in Modbus RTU communication
via RS485, terminal block P3 terminals 1 (A+), 2 (B-) and 3
(ref.). The preset parameters for communication are:
Address: 30
Baud rate/Speed: 9600
Parity bit: N, none
Stop bit: 1
Data bits: 8
For a complete Modbus register see Appendix 1:
Communication can be used for all drive system
functions.
Defrosting
It is possible to connect a differential thermostat or pres-
sure monitor to control defrosting on terminal block P3
terminals 4 and 5. When the contact is closed the speed
is reduced to 2 rpm.
Cooling recovery
When terminals 6 and 7 on terminal block P3 are closed
the rotor goes into cooling recovery mode and the speed
increases and remains constant at 25 rpm, irrespective
of control signal.
Rotation sensor
The drive system has a built-in rotation sensor that
detects whether the belt has snapped. Belt testing takes
place at set time intervals depending on the current
speed.
Control signal
The control signal is connected on terminal block P3
terminals 8 and 9.
The control system can handle several different input
signals:
• 0-10VDC
• 2-10VDC
• 0-20mA
• 4-20mA
• ModbusRTU
The choice of control signal is made using dip switches
11 and 12 corresponding to level and type respectively.
The motor speed follows a predetermined linearisation
function proportional to the degree of efficiency of the
rotor.

The gear ratio is set at the factory.
The correct activation of the drive system requires that
DIP switches 2-7 be set according to the Binary Coded
Decimal (BCD) coding of the ratio between the rotor and
belt pulley.
For example. Rotor diameter 1000 mm, belt pulley
diameter 38 mm and belt diameter 8 mm, gives ratio
of 1000+8/38+8=22 and the BCD coding is as follows
011010.

Troubleshooting
Check that the installation has been carried out correct-
ly. For example, that the cables are properly connected
to the correct terminal block and that the dip switches
are set correctly.
Observation/
indication

Check the DIP switch.
Vary the control signal between mini-
mum and maximum 0-10 V (2-10 V).
Check by strapping P3 6 and 7, the
motor should now speed up to its
maximum speed.

The motor is rota-
ting in the wrong
direction.
Switch off the power and change DIP
