Test-fit the spar into place against the ribs shown,
make any adjustments and then apply glue to the
contact points.
Re-fit the spar, making sure that it is fully engaged
with the ribs.

Now take ribs 17, 18 and 19 provided in the
previous stage and test-fit into the arrowed
notches.

First insert the rear part of the rib into the groove
of the rear spar. Then push down into the main
spar, engaging the notches.

Now take rib 16 provided with Stage 14. Test-fit it
in place in the two notches (arrows). Look at the
next step to see how to fit it.

Apply glue to the contact points for rib 17 and fit
into the spars in the same way as Step 4.

Then, glue ribs 18 and 19 into place as well.
Cut the strip to length and apply glue to the cut-
outs in the ribs behind the main spar.
Take a strip of 4 x 4mm wood provided in a
previous stage and place it on top of the wing up
against the existing 4 x 4mm strip. Make a mark on
the strip, in line with the last rib.
Glue the strip into position. You may want to hold
it there with a clamp while it dries.
Your wing should now look like this. Set aside any
unused materials.

Take a 4 x 4mm wooden strip and place it along
the groove behind the main spar on the underside
of the wing, up against the existing 4 x 4mm
wooden strip. Make a mark in line with the last rib.
Cut the strip to length, apply glue to the contact
points and fix into place.

Test-fit ribs A-D in the wing tip, along the dotted
lines and adjust if necessary.

Remove the pieces from the sheet. You can leave
rib G in the sheet for the moment.

Take the upper wing tip rib sheet that came with
the previous stage. Identify the parts and mark
with a pencil, as shown.
Glue ribs A-D into place.

Test-fit ribs E and F in place in the larger holes at
the front of the wing tip. Apply glue to the contact
areas of E and glue into place. Before E dries, glue
F into place up against it.
Place rib G firmly into position.
Remove rib G from the sheet and test-fit in the
notches of A-F. Apply glue along the line.
Now cut the excess from the wooden strips
protruding from the first rib.
This is how the wing should appear after this
stage. Set aside any spare parts.

Apply glue to the front of the fifth rib along the
dotted lines.
Now apply glue along the top of the rib.
Place one of the two shorter reinforcements flush
with the lower edge of the rib. Then place the
second reinforcement flush with the upper edge.

Now take the reinforcement sheet provided with
this stage and remove the individual pieces. Sand
off any burrs or splinters from the wood.

the top of the rib.

Remove any burrs or splinters from the ribs and
then mark their numbers (1 and 2) on them.
To help you assemble the second wing correctly,
have the first close by to refer to. Place rib 2 and

Check that the top of the rib is aligned with the
top of the spar.

Place the rib into the notch. Make sure the
projections at the bottom of the rib are flush with
the work surface.

Test-fit rib 2 in position on the spar. Apply glue to
the second notch in the spar along the dotted line.

Hold a set square up against the rib and the spar
to ensure that it dries at a right angle.

Retrieve the tube provided
with Stage 18 and the right
wing assembly. Pass the tube
down the wing through the
holes in the front of the ribs.
Hold the tube up against the corner at the bottom
of the holes in the ribs. Apply glue to the tube and
ribs to secure in place.
Stop passing the tube along the wing when it
reaches approximately halfway between the first
and the second ribs.
