Place the rib into the notch, evenly spaced
between the two adjacent ribs, and flush with the
top of the spar.

Now take rib 14 and test-fit it in the next available
notch in the main spar. Apply glue to the notch.

Position the right wing with the underside facing
up. Apply glue to the outside of the second rib.
Test-fit the reinforcement along the bottom of the
rib, make any necessary adjustments, and then
apply glue.
Place the reinforcement onto the side of the rib,
aligning the outer edges of both.
Now fit the reinforcement in place. Make sure, as
with all other reinforcements, that it is flush with
the edge of the rib.

Take a 3 x 5 x 300mm wooden strip from
a previous stage and glue it below the
marks made in Steps 4 and 5, up against
the join between the two fuselage side

Cut off the excess strip once dry so that it is flush
with the first frame.
Repeat Steps 4-6 for the right side of the fuselage.
File the end of the strip to make sure that it is
perfectly flush with the frame.

flush with the first frame of the fuselage.
The left wing and fuselage should now look
like this. Keep any unused materials to one
side for later use.

corresponding ribs. Take rib 7 and test-fit it in the
highlighted notch on the left wing. Then, apply

Apply glue to the notches of the ribs that have
projections on the underside of them (arrows).

Retrieve rib 11 provided with Stage 22. Place the
rib into the spar, as shown, but do not glue.

Hold a set square up against the rib and the spar
to check that the rib dries at a right angle.

Place the rear spar over the notches on the tops of
the ribs, as shown. Before fitting into position, look
at the next step.

The position of the notch in the rear spar causes
the first rib to sit diagonally to the others.
Now take the rib provided with Stage 20 and
apply glue to the ends of the two wing spars.
Raise the back of the wing up and make sure that
the tops of the ribs are all aligned with the rear
spar. Apply glue to rib 11 to secure it to the spars.
Place rib 1 onto the ends of the spars. Note that
the ends of the spars are angled, so the rib won’t
sit perfectly vertically.
Your wing should now look like this. Don’t
forget to set aside unused materials and
mark any ribs with their numbers.

Take rib 16 provided with Stage 26. Test-fit in the
highlighted notch, adjust the fit if necessary and
then apply glue to the notch.
Slide the rib down into the notch in the spar,

Insert the strip into the groove along the top of
the ribs. Look at the next step to see the correct
position of the strip.
Test-fit a 4 x 4mm wooden strip from a previous
stage in the groove along the tops of the ribs,
behind the spar. Apply glue to the highlighted
notches of the ribs.
The end of the strip should be positioned halfway
across the rib, as shown.
Keep any unused pieces to one side
and check that your wing looks the
same as the one shown here.
