BLOTZ B28-WC-002 Assembly Instructions

  • Hello! I'm a chat assistant that has reviewed the assembly instructions for the 28mm French Napoleonic Caisson B28-WC-002 and Limber B28-WC-001. The document clearly outlines the steps and tools needed for assembling these models, including gluing, sanding, and using a modeling knife. The instructions also mention using pegs or elastic bands for holding pieces while the glue dries. I am ready to answer any questions you have regarding the assembly process or the parts described in the instructions.
  • What kind of glue is required for assembly?
What tool is needed to remove parts from the sprue?
What can be used to hold pieces in place while the glue is drying?
28mm French Napoleonic Caisson
B28-WC-002
Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care and remember
to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in place while
you allow glue to dry.
A full-colour copy of these instructions can be found on our website: www.blotz.co.uk
Limber (B28-WC-001)
Remove the two wheels, both sections of the axle and
the five wheel bearings from the sprue.
Glue the front and back of the axle together.
Ensuring that the ends are level. Note the grooves in
the underside of the axle are purposefully off-set so
do not line up.
Next glue a wheel bearing onto each axle and one on
the top pivot point as shown above.
Glue the wheels into position (sprue points
downwards) and attach a wheel bearing to the ends
of the axles.
Remove the remaining three pieces from the sprue.
Attach the splinter bar to the middle of the piece
and the curved section to the back as shown above.
Finally glue the axle into position, aligning the grooves
in its base with the curves arms of the bar.
Caisson (B28-WC-002)
Remove the base, sides, ends and axle from the sprue.
Glue the two sides into position.
Next glue the axle into position then insert the end
pieces so that their lugs align with the slots at each
end of the side pieces.
Glue the end brace into position, then attach the
spare wheel support. Note this has a square end and
a tapered end – the tapered end attached to the
main body of the caisson.
Remove four axle bosses
and two of the wheels
from the sprue. Glue into
position as shown, so that
the bosses and wheel are
at the ends of the axle,
with a gap between the
inner boss and the side of
the caisson.
Attach the spare wheel and remaining axle box to
the rear support as shown.
Glue one side of the top into position….
..followed by the other side.
Finally place the caisson and limber together.
