Battery protection mode
If you haven’t used the speaker for 90 days, the speaker will
switch to battery protection mode automatically
To keep the rechargeable battery in good condition, please
discharge and recharge speaker every 3 months, especially
if you are not using the speaker for long periods of time
To cancel the battery protection mode, simply plug the Hive 2
into a charger
Getting started
To turn the Hive 2 on, press and hold Power (5) for 5 seconds.
To turn the Hive 2 o, press and hold Power (5) for 5 seconds
whilst it is on
The Hive 2 has an auto power o feature to save battery power
when not in use. The Hive 2 will automatically switch o if it has
not played any audio for 15 minutes
Please ensure the rubber feet are free from dirt to prevent the
speaker moving/vibrating when playing music. If the feet need
cleaning, simply wipe them with a damp cloth
Battery LED indicator
Whilst the Hive is turned on and in use, the Battery LED indicator (6)
will light up to indicate how much power is remaining in the battery.
It will light up as the following:
Green when the battery is at 70% charge or above
Green and red when the battery is between 30% – 70%
Red when the battery is below 30%
Charging the battery
The Hive 2 has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. Make sure the
Hive 2 is switched o. Connect one end of the Micro USB charge
cable to the Micro USB charge port (8) on the Hive 2 and connect
the other end to your PC or USB mains adaptor. The battery will
start charging.
It takes up to 4.5 hours to fully charge the battery
Whilst charging, the battery LED indicator (6) will ash red when
below 30%, ash green and red when between 30 – 70%, and
ash green when above 70%
When fully charged, the battery LED indicator (6) will turn solid green

Pairing a wireless device
Using NFC
With the Hive 2 turned o:
1. Press and hold Power (5) for 5 seconds
2. The LED indicator (2) will ash blue for 10 seconds, then rapidly
ash blue to indicate it is in pairing mode
3. Turn on your iOS, Android, or Windows device’s Bluetooth and
NFC ON and place it against the NFC icon (9) on the Hive 2
(you may have to remove your case for NFC to work)
4. A prompt will appear saying ‘Pair to Hive 2?’ or similar
Without NFC
With the Hive 2 turned o:
1. Press and hold Power (5) for 5 seconds
2. The LED indicator (2) will ash blue for 10 seconds, then rapidly
ash blue to indicate it is in pairing mode
3. Turn on your iOS, Android, or Windows device’s Bluetooth
ON and search for new device. Select ‘Hive 2’ from the list
of found devices
4. If asked for a passcode, enter ‘0000’ and the Hive 2 will then
be connected to your device
5. After pairing successfully, the LED indicator (2) will slowly
ash blue
6. The next time the Hive 2 is switched on, it will automatically
search for and attempt to connect to the last paired device.
Note: If your device is not connecting automatically, it’s because
it is not the last paired device. Simply delete ‘Hive 2’ from the list
of wireless devices on your device and re-pair.
5. Select ‘Pair’ and the Hive 2 will then be paired to your device

Playing audio wirelessly
1. Follow the instructions in the ‘Pairing a wireless device’ section
2. Use the controls on your device to select content
3. Audio played through the connected wireless device will now be
heard through the Hive 2
4. To play or pause the selected track, use the controls on your
device or press the MFB (1)
5. To skip track, use the controls on your device or press and hold
the Previous track (3) or the Next track (4) button
Re-pairing or pairing new devices
1. Make sure the wireless connectivity is turned o on any
previously paired devices
2. Follow the ‘Pairing a wireless device’ instructions from step 1

6. The volume can be adjusted on both your device and the Hive 2.
To change the volume on the Hive 2, press (don’t hold) the
Volume – (3) or Volume + (4) button several times until you reach
the desired volume
Note: Track control functions from the buttons on the Hive 2 will
require your device to have Bluetooth prole AVRCP. Please check
your device’s manual if unsure.
Using the Aux audio input
1. With the Hive 2 turned on, insert the 3.5 mm aux cable into the
Aux input (7) on the Hive 2
2. The LED indicator (2) will turn solid red and any wireless
connection will disconnect
3. Plug the other end of the aux cable into the audio/headphone
output on an MP3 player or other audio source
4. Audio played through the connected device will now be heard
through the Hive 2
5. The volume can be adjusted on your both your device and Hive 2
Note: The play/pause and skip track functions on the Hive 2 do not
operate in aux mode.

PLEASE NOTE:
Your device will have an internal amplier and if it is playing digital
les like MP3s it will also have an integrated DAC (Digital Audio
Converter). If you turn up the volume to 100%, your device will be
sending distorted signals to the Hive 2. To avoid this and to get the
best sound quality from the speaker, we recommend that you do
not run your device any higher than 95% volume.
Also note, the Hive 2 uses a dynamic EQ which changes depending
on the volume level set on the Hive 2. We recommend you set the
volume on your device to 95% and then adjust the volume only on
the Hive 2. As you set the volume higher on the Hive 2, the bass
level will slowly decrease to prevent distortion.
Call handling
Answer a call When a call comes through, the Hive 2 will
play a ringtone. Press the MFB (1) to answer
During the call you can decrease/increase
the volume by pressing the Volume – (3) or
Volume + (4) button respectively
End call – During a call, press the MFB (1) to end the call
Redial To redial the last dialled number, double press
the MFB (1)
Note: This feature is only available in wireless mode.
Care for your Hive 2
Please DON’T:
Get the Hive 2 wet
Drop the Hive 2 as this will invalidate your warranty
Open up the Hive 2 as there are no user serviceable parts inside
Expose the Hive 2 to extreme temperatures or rapid changes of
hot to cold or vice versa
Please DO:
Clean the Hive 2 with a soft dry cloth and no detergents
