Strongboard for Carpet and Synthetics
With SpeedUp Eco Heating System
Installation of load bearing substrate Strongboard
for carpet or synthetic surfaces
1
Once acclimatised for
2-6 days begin installing
Strongboard. Cut perimeter
insulation along the edge of
the support battens.
2
Cut the tongue that meets
the wall side and lay with an
expansion gap of 10 mm us-
ing appropriate wedges.
3
Use circular saw (universal
blade) and utilise rest pieces
of more than 40 cm at the
beginning of the next row.
4
In larger rooms - 8m long
or wide - a movement joint
should be installed which
should rest on support bat-
tens.
5
The Strongboard panels
should be laid in a staggered
pattern, allowing at least 40
cm for each laid panel.
6
Join the boards using the
tongue and groove.
7
As the Strongboard
system settles the tongue and
groove mechanism clicks into
place.
8
With a mallet and a
wooden block give a gentle
tap to the short ends.
9
Seal the floor with a wood
sealant immediately after
laying and leave to dry for 12
hours.
10
It is possible to lay carpet
or a suitable synthetic prod-
uct after 10 to 24 hours.
