Redback® A 4658 Paging Console Power Injector
OVERVIEW
The Redback® A 4658 has been designed to provide external power injection to the new A 4660 Redback Paging Console.
This may be required when the A 4660 is connected via a long Cat5e/6 cable run, or when two paging consoles are cascaded
together and the master unit cannot provide enough power.
The power injector can be inserted in the line between the master unit and the paging console, or in the line between the
rst and second paging consoles.
Figure 1 illustrates an example of both congurations when connected to an A 4580 master unit, but the same applies when
connecting to other master units such as the A 4500C, A 4450, A 4270, A 4489A etc
(Note: the option of cascading consoles is not available on all master units).
The A 4658 is powered from the 24V DC plugpack supplied with the unit.
