Precautions
This document provides quick guidelines for hardware installation.
This document does not describe pre-delivery assembly. This document describes only procedures for
onsite installation.
Electrostatic Discharge
Wear ESD gloves or an ESD wrist strap prior to contact
with the equipment or before handling the plug-boards,
boards, and IC chips to prevent damage to sensitive
components caused by electrostatic discharge from the
human body. Ensure that the other end of the ESD
wrist strap is properly grounded.
Binding Cables
Binding intervals between cable ties or optical fiber binding straps inside the cabinet cannot exceed 250 mm.
(The distance cannot exceed 200 mm for user cables).
Binding intervals between cable ties for all cables and corrugated tubes outside the cabinet are determined
according to the distance between the two horizontal beams. If the cable trough does not contain any beams,
the binding intervals between cable ties cannot exceed 250 mm.
Checking Before Installation
Check the telecommunications room, cabinet, power supply, ground cables, optical cables, and
associated facilities prior to installation. Start the installation according to the engineering design
documents after confirming that conditions are met.

Regulation and Precautions for Board Handling
Do not hold a board without hand protection. Wear an ESD wrist strip or ESD gloves before handling a board.
Insert filler panels into vacant slots on an NE to prevent foreign matters from getting into the NE and system
air ducts from being damaged, which may resulting in faults on the NE.
Boards are fragile and valuable. When handling or placing a board, exercise caution and put it into a
dedicated packing box.
Coherent boards, such as TN12LSC, TN11LTX, TN15LSXL, and TN55NS3, must be packed with original
packaging materials during transportation. If the original packaging materials are lost, contact Huawei.
Holding aboard without hand protection Wearing ESD gloves Wearing an ESD strip
Hold the front panel of a board with both hands.

By default, the fiber management tray is installed in the lower part of the cabinet and is more than
50 mm away from the subrack. The fiber management tray must also be more than 50 mm away
from the air inlet and outlet of the subrack. The fiber management tray can be installed in a cabinet
that is not fully configured with subracks, but future expansion will be affected due to reduced
installation space in the cabinet.
Install mounting ears on the fiber management tray.
Secure the fiber management tray in the cabinet.

To install the SS62COA inside the cabinet, you need to provide a space with 125 mm in height. By default, the
SS62COA is installed at the bottom of the cabinet (first and third floating nuts). The spacing between the
SS62COA and the subrack is more than 50 mm. The SS62COA can also be installed in the other position of the
cabinet which is not fully configured. The capacity expansion will be, however, affected in the future because the
space is occupied.

The RPC frame is powered by the
tributary power output terminal on
the power cable terminal block on
the top of the cabinet. Straight-
through network cables are used
for the communication between the
RPC board and the subrack.
If the COM port on the AUX board is idle, you can connect the LAN port on the RPC board to the COM port
on the AUX board by using a network cable.
