Caution: To Avoid Serious Injury
Important: Read the following warnings before beginning an
installation. Failure to do so may result in possible death or
serious injury.
DO Adhere to all National and Local Plumbing and Elec-
trical Safety Codes.
DO Turn “off” incoming electrical service switches
when servicing, installing, or repairing equipment.
DO Check that all flare fittings on the carbonation
tank(s) are tight. This check should be performed
with a wrench to ensure a quality seal.
DO Inspect pressure on Regulators before starting up
equipment.
DO Protect eyes when working around refrigerants.
DO Use caution when handling metal surface edges of
all equipment.
DO Handle CO
2 cylinders and gauges with care. Secure
cylinders properly against abrasion.
DO Store CO
2 cylinder(s) in well ventilated areas.
DO NOT Throw or drop a CO
2 cylinder. Secure the cylinder(s)
in an upright position with a chain.
DO NOT Connect the CO
2 cylinder(s) directly to the product
container. Doing so will result in an explosion caus-
ing possible death or injury. Best to connect the
CO
2 cylinder(s) to a regulator(s).
DO NOT Store CO
2 cylinders in temperature above 125°F
(51.7°C) near furnaces, radiator or sources of heat.
DO NOT Release CO
2 gas from old cylinder.
DO NOT Touch Refrigeration lines inside units, some may
exceed temperatures of 200°F (93.3°C).
Notice: Water pipe connections and fixtures directly connected
to a potable water supply shall be sized, installed and
maintained in accordance with Federal, State, and Local codes.

Retro-fit kit instructions
Removal Procedure
Warning! Electrical power to tower must be turned “off”!
Caution: Shut “off” water and syrup pressurized supply lines.
1. Disconnect power to tower prior to removing top cover
(refer to Figure 2).
4. Disconnect the power to the valves by pulling plug.
5. Disconnect (pulling plug) the power connections to the
front Plain Water/Soda Water and Amber CO
2 Light but-
tons. Remove both buttons.
6. Remove Push Button Panel by lifting up and pulling for-
ward and discarding (refer to Figure 4). Disconnect (pull
connectors) from Keyboard and Control Printed Circuit
Board (PCB). Remove PCB and discard.

2. Disconnect Syrup and Soda sources to depressurize the
system. Actuate each valve to ensure system is totally
depressurized.
3. Remove top cover and set aside (refer to Figure 3).
7. Remove all valves by removing the valve from the mount-
ing block. Remove retaining ring and set aside (refer to
Figure 6).
8. Remove keyboard by removing the 13 nuts on the inside
of front panel. Keyboard can be discarded. Retain nuts
for re-use. Remove striker panel from inside (striker panel
is mounted by the six [6] bottom screws).
9. Remove plastic guard by pulling on two (2) upright tabs
and set aside (refer to Figure 5).

11. Remove the old mounting block from the panel by remov-
ing four (4) screws (retain screws for re-use). Ensure that
syrup and soda lines are secured to the faucet plate.

Installation procedure
1. Disconnect the mounting block from the valve by lifting
the valve retainer and then detaching the mounting block.
2. Slide the mounting block over the syrup and soda fittings
(refer to Figure 7). Secure the mounting block to the plate,
using four (4) screws.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for remaining valves.
4. Mount Mantex Keyboard to front of shroud using 13 nuts
retained from step 8 of Removal Procedure under Retro-fit
instructions (two [2] spare nuts are provided with kit).
5. Install CO
2 Lamp (if required) and/or white hole plugs in
holes provided in Keyboard.
6. Re-install the plastic guard removed in step 7 of removal
procedure.
7. Install the new valves onto the new mounting block (refer
to Figure 10). Secure the valve by sliding the valve re-
tainer down to the valve stem. Rotate each valve stem to
its open position.

7. Cut and strip
7
/16" from the two (2) black power wires and
one (1) white common wire of valve wire harness approxi-
mately 6" from valve side of faucet plate. Cut Green/
Yellow ground wires and discard remaining harness.
8. Connect 2-Pin plugs on Harness Assembly (Multiplex
P.N. 00219153) to the Volumetric Valve power receptacles.

Mantex Keyboard Installation
1. Remove protective cap from front of valve and connect
six (6) Harness Assemblies (Multiplex P.N. 00219152) to
Volumetric Valve Portion Control Board and Keyboard.
2. Replace top cover (refer to Figure 13).
9. Crimp the black wire from the 2-Pin Valve Harnesses of
the three (3) left valves to one (1) of the black wires noted
in step 6. Crimp the black wires from the three (3) right
valves to the other black wire. Crimp the white wires from
all six (6) valves to the white common wire (refer to Fig-
ure 11).
Completing the Installation
1. Reconnect syrup and soda sources to pressurize the sys-
tem.
2. Reconnect power to tower.
3. Assure proper activation of each valve.
