GENERAL
The type EQAZ-19 is an automatic float-controlled airpurging valve
incorporating a non-return valve. The valve is designed for use in
water circuits at maximum conditions of 115 °C and 1,1 MPa (11 bar).
The valve is impervious to high water temperature and to water con-
taining an anti-freeze. Each valve is pressure-tested and checked
for tightness prior to delivery.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The float drops as air accumulates in the housing, allowing the valve
to open and discharge the air. Water then fills the housing, lifting the
float and closing the valve.
INSTALLATION
The valve must be installed vertically with the vent facing upwards.
Note that a minimum clearance of 12 mm must be provided above
the cap. The non-return valve and purging valve are supplied sepa-
rately. The non-return valve should be fitted in an the nipple before
mounting the purging valve in position. The non-return valve is pro-
vided with a gasket, providing a self-sealing joint between it and the
housing.
OPERATION
In service, the valve cap on top of the purging valve should be un-
screwed two turns. Purging cannot take place if the cap is screwed
down fully.
MAINTENANCE
The valve may be cleaned as follows if leakage occurs due to the in-
gress of dirt: Unscrew the housing from the non-return valve, leaving
the latter in position in the nipple. Unscrew to top of the housing from
the bottom half and clean the components, for example by blowing
with compressed air.
