Important

Before you begin: Open, identify and count all parts prior to assembly. Lay out parts on a flat and non-

abrasive surface. You will need the parts identified on page 3 and 4 of this instruction manual.

NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO USE GLUE WITH DOWELS. EXCESS GLUE CAN BE WIPED OFF

WITH DAMP CLOTH.

Insert Dowel at least half way by tapping lightly with a rubber mallet, IF NECESSARY.

CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION

HOW THE KNOCK DOWN (KD) ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS

1. Screw the Cam Bolt into the pre-drilled small holes on the panel. Connect both panels together; making sure

the Cam Bolt goes into the pre-drilled hole at the end of the panel with the Cam Lock.

2. Insert the Cam Lock into the pre-drilled large hole in the panel. Make sure the arrow on the Cam Lock is

pointed towards the Cam Bolt.

3. Once the Cam Bolt is connected inside the Cam Lock, take a Phillips screwdriver (not included) and

tighten the Cam Lock clockwise.

4. Plug the Cam Lock Cover into the cross slot of the Cam Locks to conceal the cam.

You are now ready to assemble the KD unit.

Utility Drawer Assembling

1. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all the hardware and required parts. Assembly the unit on a

carpeted floor or the empty carton to avoid any scratch.

2. Place the Drawer Front (S) on a level and protective surface with the holes facing up. Securely screw 4

Cam Bolts (3) into the designated small holes, as shown in the illustration.

3. Attach the Drawer Left and Right Side Panels (U and V) to the Drawer Front (S) by engaging four

Small Cam Locks (1) (Refer to page 2 on Cam Lock system operation supplement). Make sure that the

grooves face inward and line up with each other.

4. Slide the Drawer Bottom Panel (W) all the way into the grooves with the finished surface up.

Utility Drawer Assembling

5. Fasten the Drawer Back Panel (T) to the Drawer Side Panels (U and V) using four 1-1/4” Screws (10).

Make sure that the Drawer Bottom Panel (W) fits securely into the groove of the Drawer Back Panel (T).

Tighten all the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

6. Using the pilot holes as a guide, align and attach the Left Slide Runner (DL) to the Drawer Left Side

Panel (U) using three 1/2” Black Screws (9). Make sure that the roller end of Slide Runner faces

backward. Tightly fasten with a Phillips screwdriver.

7. Repeat the last step to attach the Right Slide Runner (DR) to the Drawer Right Side Panel (V).

8. Attach the Knob (18) to the outside of the Drawer Front (S) using one Knob Bolt (19) provided.

9. Place the Desk Top (A), the Desk Side Panel Molding (C), the Cabinet Top Panel (E) and the Cabinet

Side Moldings (G) on a level and protective surface with the holes facing up. Securely screw the Cam

Bolts (3) into the designated small holes, as shown in the illustration.

10. Insert four Wood Dowels (4) into the side holes of one Cabinet Side Molding (G). Tap in with a rubber

mallet, if necessary. Make sure that you use a small amount of glue with both ends of all dowels.

NOTE:

It is very important to use a small amount of glue on both ends of dowels.

11. Align the inserted Cam Bolts (3) and Wood Dowels (4) on the Cabinet Side Molding (G) with the end

holes of the Cabinet Left Side Panel (F) and then press them together. Make sure that the outer surfaces

are flush with each other. Fasten the Cabinet Side Molding (G) to the Left Side Panel (F) by engaging 4

Large Cam Locks (2) (Refer to page 2 on Cam Lock system operation supplement).

12. Insert two Wood Dowels (4) into the large holes on Left Slide Support (N) and attach it to the Cabinet

Left Side Panel (F). Make sure that the front pilot hole on the Slide Support is close to the Cabinet Side

Molding (G). Insert two 1-1/4”

Screws (10) through the countersunk holes of the Slide Support (N) and

securely screw into the Cabinet Left Side Panel (F), using a Phillips screwdriver.

13. Fasten two Hinge Supports (O) to the Cabinet Left Side Panel (F) using four 1-1/4” Screws (10) into the

countersunk holes. Make sure that the pilot holes are close to the Left Side Molding (G).

14. Using the pilot holes as a guide, fasten the Door Hinge Base (17) to each Hinge Support (O) with two

1/2” Zinc Screws (8). Make sure that the slot on the top of Hinge Base faces the Cabinet Side Molding

(G).

15. Align and attach the Left Slide Track (CL) to the Left Slide Support (N) using three 1/2” Black Screws

(9) through the small holes on the track and screw into the pilot holes. As shown below. Tightly fasten

with a Phillips screwdriver.

16. Securely screw 5 Cam Bolts (3) into the designated small holes on the Left Side Panel (F), as shown in

the illustration.

17. Align and attach the other Cabinet Side Molding (G) to the Cabinet Right Side Panel (H) by using four

Wood Dowels (4) and four Large Cam Locks (2). Make sure that the outer surfaces are flush with each

other.

18. Fasten the Right Slide Support (I) to the Cabinet Right Side Panel (H) by using two Wood Dowels (4)

and two 1-1/4”

Wood Screws (10). Make sure that the front pilot hole on the Slide Support is close to the

Cabinet Side Molding (G).

19. Using the pilot holes as a guide, align and attach the Right Slide Track (CR) to the Right Slide Support

(I) using three 1/2” Black Screws (9) through the small holes on the track and screw into place. As

shown below. Tightly fasten with a Phillips screwdriver.

20. Securely screw five Cam Bolts (3) into the designated small holes on the Right Side Panel (H), as

shown in the illustration.

21. Align and attach the Side Panel Molding (C) to the Desk Right Side Panel (B) with 2 Wood Dowels (4)

and 3 Large Cam Locks (2), as shown. Make sure that the outside surfaces are even with each other.

22. Securely screw 2 Cam Bolts (3) into the designated small holes on the back portion of the Desk Right

Side Panel (B), as shown.

23. Securely screw 2 Cam Bolts (3) into the designated small holes on the Bottom Front Molding (L), as

shown below.

24. Align and attach the Bottom Front Molding (L) to the Bottom Panel (K) with two Wood Dowels (4) and

two Large Cam Locks (2), as shown below. Make sure that the top surfaces are even with each other.

25. Align the Magnetic Catch (12) over the pilot holes on the Cabinet Crossbar (M) with the magnetic plate

facing the edge with notches. And then fasten the Magnetic Catch (12) in place using two 5/8”

Screws

(11).

26. Insert 2 Wood Dowels (4) into the inner end holes of the Fixed Shelf (J) and attach it to the Cabinet Left

Side Panel (F) with 2 Large Cam Locks (2). Ensure the Cam Locks point towards the bottom of the unit.

27. Fasten the Cabinet Crossbar (M) to the Cabinet Left Side Panel (F) using one Wood Dowel (4) and one

Cam Lock (2), as shown below. Make sure that the Magnetic Catch (12) faces the bottom of the unit.

28. Align and attach the assembled Bottom Panel (K) to the Cabinet Left Side Panel (F) using 2 Wood

Dowels (4) and 2 Large Cam Locks (2). As shown below.

29. Repeat the same procedure to attach the Cabinet Right Side Panel assembly at the opposite end.

30. Stand the assembled unit upright.

31. Insert four Wood Dowels (4) into the top inner holes of the

Cabinet Side Panels (F and H). As shown.

32. Position the Cabinet Top Panel (E) onto the inserted Wood

Dowels (4) making sure the back edges are even with each

other. Attach the Top Panel (E) in place by engaging four

Large Cam Locks (2).

33. Now, go back and tighten all Cam Locks and Screws, make sure all the parts are tight and there are no

gaps between the parts. This will help keep the unit square.

34. Pick up the Cabinet Back Panel (R) and attach it to the backside of the assembled frame so that the

drilled holes on the Back Panel overlap the pilot holes properly. Gently hammer the 3/4” Ring Shank

Nails (13) into the drilled small holes on the Back Panel (R).

NOTE: We recommend attaching the back panel with the Ring Shank Nails at the corners first.

35. Align and attach 2 Metal Brackets (16) to the Cabinet

Right Side Panel (H) by inserting four 5/8” Bolts (5)

with Lock Washers (6) and Flat Washers (7) through

the drilled holes and securely screw into the threaded

inserts. Make sure that the right-angle side of the Metal

Brackets are up.

36. Securely screw two Cam Bolts (3) into the designate

small holes on the back portion of the Cabinet Right

Side Panel (H), as shown.

37. Insert 2 Wood Dowels (4) into the inner holes of the Modesty Panel (D) at both ends. Align and attach

the Modesty Panel (D) to the Cabinet Right Side Panel (H) using 2 Cam Locks (2). Make sure that the

Cam Locks (2) face backward and the long edge with the cam bolt holes of the Modesty Panel (D) is up.

38. Align and attach the Desk Right Side Panel (B) to the Modesty Panel (D) by engaging two Large Cam

Locks (2).

39. Insert four Wood Dowels (4) into the top

inner holes of the Desk Right Side Panel

(B) and the Modesty Panel (D). As shown.

DO NOT insert the Wood Dowels into the

Cam Bolt holes.

40. Ask for assistance to position the Desk

Top (A) onto the inserted Wood Dowels

(4). Attach the Desk Top (A) to the

Modesty Panel (D) with 3 Large Cam

Locks (2).

41. Attach the Desk Top (A) to the Desk Right Side Panel (B) by engaging two Large Cam Locks (2).

42. Fasten the Desk Top (A) to the Metal Brackets (16) on the Cabinet Right Side Panel (H) by using four

5/8” Bolts (5) and four Washers (6 and 7).

43. Extend the Hinges Arms (17) and rest the

Hinge Cups onto the cutouts of the Door

Panel (Q). Secure the Hinge Arms in place

by using two 1/2” Zinc Screws (8) in each.

44. Pick up the Door Panel (Q) and attach the extended Hinge Arms to the Hinge Bases installed on the

Hinge Supports (O). Loosen the lock bolt on the back of Hinge Base for an easy fit. Align and insert the

“U” slot on Hinge Arm under the lock bolt head on the back of Hinge Base. Make sure that both door

hinges engage and function properly. Tighten the bolt on the Hinge Base to lock the hinges in place.

45. Open and close the Door Panel (Q) to make sure it is aligned and shuts correctly. If necessary, adjust the

screws for a good fit.

46. With the Door Panel (Q) open, attach the Knob (18) to the outside of the Door Panel using the provided

Knob Bolt (19).

47. To insert the assembled drawer into place, tip the front of drawer down and drop the rollers of the

drawer Slide Runners behind the rollers of Slide Tracks on the unit. Lift the front of the drawer up and

slide it into the unit.

48. Insert four Shelf Pins (15) into the

desired holes in the sides of upper

compartment. Make sure you place the

four Shelf Pins in the same level so the

shelf is not tilted. Tilt and rest the

Adjustable Shelf (P) onto the Shelf Pins

(15) making sure the end notches of the

Adjustable Shelf fit onto the Shelf Pins

properly.

49. Plug the Cam Lock Covers (14) onto the

visible Cams Locks to conceal the Cam

Locks.

Care and Maintenance

z Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting.

z Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous area.

z Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage your furniture’s finish.

z Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish.

z Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots.

z Liquid spills should be removed immediately. Using a soft clean cloth, blot the spill gently. Avoid rubbing.

z Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create

spotting within the furniture finish.

z Stains or marks from crayons or ink markers will be difficult to remove.

z In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged during use, we recommend that you call a

professional to repair your furniture.

z Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary.

Further advice about wood furniture care

It is best to keep your furniture in a climate-controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity

changes can cause fading, warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from

direct sunlight as sun may damage the finish.

Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Following these important and helpful

tips will enhance your furniture as it ages.

A Touch-up Pen has been provided to repair any small nicks or scratches that may occur during assembly or

shipping.
