Important

Before you begin: Open, identify and count all parts prior to assembly. Lay out parts on a flat and non-

abrasive surface. You will need the parts identified on page 3 and 4 of this instruction manual.

NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO USE GLUE WITH DOWELS. EXCESS GLUE CAN BE WIPED OFF

WITH DAMP CLOTH.

Insert Dowel at least half way by tapping lightly with a rubber mallet, IF NECESSARY.

CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION

HOW THE KNOCK DOWN (KD) ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS

1. Screw the Cam Bolt into the pre-drilled small holes on the panel. Connect both panels together; making sure

the Cam Bolt goes into the pre-drilled hole at the end of the panel with the Cam Lock.

2. Insert the Cam Lock into the pre-drilled large hole in the panel. Make sure the arrow on the Cam Lock is

pointed towards the Cam Bolt.

3. Once the Cam Bolt is connected inside the Cam Lock, take a Phillips screwdriver (not included) and

tighten the Cam Lock clockwise.

4. Plug the Cam Lock Cover into the cross slot of the Cam Locks to conceal the cam.

You are now ready to assemble the KD unit.

Drawer Assembling

1. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all the hardware and required parts. Assembly the unit on a

carpeted floor or the empty carton to avoid any scratch.

2. Insert two M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels (3) into the inner end holes of the Drawer Bottom Panel (S). Tap

in with a rubber mallet, if necessary. Make sure that you use a small amount of glue with both ends of

all dowels.

NOTE

: It is very important to use a small amount of glue on both ends of dowels.

3. Align the drilled holes on the Utility Drawer Back (P) with the inserted Wood Dowels (3) on the

Drawer Bottom Panel (S) and then press them together. Make sure the bottom surfaces are flush with

each other. Secure the Utility Drawer Back (P) to the Drawer Bottom Panel (S) by using three 1-1/4”

s (9). As shown below. Tighten all the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

4. Insert two M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels (3) into the inner holes of the Drawer Bottom Panel (S) at both

ends. Align and attach the Drawer Side Panels (Q and R) to the last assembly using four 1-1/4”

s (9) per drawer side panel. Tighten all the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

Drawer Assembling

5. Position the leaf with spring metal bar of Drop-down Hinges (10) onto the cutouts of the Drawer Front

(O) and fasten them in place using three 1/2” Screws (8) per hinge leaf. As shown. Make sure that the

screw head on hinges are flush with the inner surface of the Drawer Front.

6. Align and attach the other leaf of Drop-down Hinges (10) to the Drawer Bottom Panel (S) using three

1/2” Screws (8) per hinge leaf. Make sure that the Drawer Front can flip up properly. Tightly fasten all

the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

7. Pick up the Ball Bearing Slides (T) and separate the Slide Runners for the following steps. Extend the

Slide Runner all the way forward. Press the plastic release lever of the ball bearing slides up and pull

the Slide Runner complete out.

8. Attach the separated Slide Runners (T) to the Drawer Side Panels (Q and R) respectively with three

1/2” Screws (8) per slide runner. Ensure the closed end of Slide Runner against the front of the unit.

9. Attach the separated Slide Tracks (T) to the Drawer Housing Left and Right Panels (M and N)

respectively with three 1/2” Screws (8) per slide track. Make sure that the slide opening faces the

finished edge.

10. Place the Base Side Frames (G and H), the Base Top Panel (I), the Base Back Panel (J) and the Drawer

Housing Left and Right Panels (M and N) on a level and protective surface with the holes facing up.

Securely screw the Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes, as shown in the illustration.

11. Insert one M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowel (3) into the drilled hole of the Drawer Housing Back Stretcher (L)

at both ends. DO NOT put dowels into the Cam Bolt holes.

12. Connect the Drawer Housing Back Stretcher (L) between the Drawer Housing Side Panels (M and N)

by engaging two Cam Locks (1) (Refer to page 2 on Cam Lock system operation supplement). As

shown. Make sure the Cam Locks point towards the back of the unit.

13. Insert six M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels (3) into the inner end holes of the assembled drawer housing

frame. Align the inserted Wood Dowels (3) with the drilled holes on the Base Top Panel (I) and then

press them together. As shown below. Secure the drawer housing frame to the Base Top Panel (I) by

engaging seven Cam Locks (1).

14. Attach the Base Back Panel (J) to the Base Top Panel (I) with four M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels (3) and

4 Cam Locks (1). As shown. Make sure that the Cam Locks (1) point towards the back of the unit.

15. Turn over the last assembly onto the Base Back Panel (J). Fasten the Base Bottom Panel (K) to the Base

Back Panel (J) using two M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels (3) and three Cam Locks (1). As shown. Make

sure the Cam Locks (1) point towards the bottom of the unit when the unit is turned upright.

Assembly Instructions

16. Insert seven M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels (3) into the non-threaded holes on the Base Right Side Frame

(H). Align the inserted Cam Bolts (2) and Wood Dowels (3) with the drilled holes on the right end of

the last assembly.

17. Attach the Base Bottom Panel (K) to the Right Side Frame (H) by engaging two Cam Locks (1). Insert

three 1”

Bolts (5) with the Flat Washers (7) through the countersunk holes on the Drawer Housing Right

Panel (N) and securely screw into the threaded inserts on the Right Side Frame (H). As shown below.

18. Repeat the same procedure to attach the Base Left Side Frame (G) at the opposite end.

19. Stand the assembled base upright.

20. Fasten the Base Back Panel (J) to the Base

Side Frames (G and H) by engaging six Cam

Locks (1).

21. Securely screw four Cam Bolts (2) into the

designate small holes on the top of both Base

Side Frames (G and H), as shown.

22. To conceal the Cam Locks, plug the Cam Lock Covers (12) onto the Cams Locks (1) on the Base Back

Panel (J).

23. Locate the Hutch Side Frames (A and B) and the Hutch Fixed Shelf (C) and securely screw the Cam

Bolts (2) into the designated small holes, as shown in the illustration.

24. Insert two M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels (3)

into the inner holes of the Hutch Back Panel

(D) and attach it to the Hutch Fixed Shelf (C)

by engaging three Cam Locks (1). As shown.

Make sure that the cork board and white

board on the Hutch Back Panel (D) will point

towards the front of the unit.

25. Turn over the last assembly onto the Hutch Back Panel (D) and insert four M8 x 30 mm Wood Dowels

(3) into the inner end holes at right side. Align the drilled holes on the Hutch Right Side Frame (B) with

the inserted Wood Dowels (3) and press them together. Fasten the Hutch Fixed Shelf (C) to the Hutch

Right Side Frame (B) by engaging two Cam Locks (1). As shown below.

26. Attach the Hutch Top Stretcher (E) to the upper corner of the Hutch Right Side Frame (B) with one M8

x 30 mm Wood Dowel (3). Make sure that the Cam Lock holes on the top stretcher face backward.

27. Insert the Metal Rod (F) into pre-drilled large hole on the Hutch Right Side Frame (B). As shown.

28. Repeat the same procedure to attach the Hutch Left Side Frame (A) at the other end.

29. Stand the assembled Hutch upright.

30. Fasten the Hutch Top Stretcher (E) and the Hutch Back Panel (D) to both Hutch Side Frames (A and B)

by engaging 6 Cam Locks (1). As shown.

31. For nice looking, plug 2 Cam Lock Covers (12) onto the Cams Locks (1) on the Hutch Top Stretcher (E)

and plug 7 Cam Lock Covers (13) onto the Cams Locks (1) on the Hutch Back Panel (D). As shown.

Assembly Instructions

32. Insert four M8 x 50 mm Wood Dowels (4) into the top inner holes of the Base Side Frame (G and H).

Ask for the help from your assistant, carefully position the assembled hutch onto the inserted Cam Bolts

(2) and Wood Dowels (4).

33. Fasten the hutch in place by engaging four Cam Locks (1). As shown. Proceed to insert the 1-1/2” Bolts

(6) through the countersunk hole underneath the front rail of both Base Side Frames (G and H) and

securely screw into the threaded inserts on the Hutch Side Frames (A and B), using the Allen Wrench.

Assembly Instructions

34. Plug four Cam Lock Caps (11) onto the visible Cam Locks on the Hutch Side Frames (A and B) and

plug four Cam Lock Covers (12) onto the Cam Locks under the Hutch Fixed Shelf (C).

35. Insert the assembled drawer into the frame. Extend the Ball Bearing Slide Tracks (T) on the Drawer

Housing Side Panels (M and N) all the way forward (including ball bearing cart). Then align the Slide

Runners on the assembled drawer with the Slide Tracks and push the drawer carefully inside until it

stops.

NOTE: If the drawer does not go in smoothly, please take it out and repeat the step. If you need to

remove the drawer, please pull the drawer all the way out, then simultaneously push the plastic release

lever of the ball bearing slides up on one side and down on the other side, and then pull it completely out.

Assembly Instructions

36. Ask for assistance to position the assembled unit at the desired location against a wall.

37. Now, follow the instructions printed on the plastic bag containing the Tipping Restraint Hardware to attach

two tipping restraints to the unit and the wall. As shown in the illustration.

NOTE: Young children can be seriously injured by tipping furniture. You must install the

Tipping Restraint Hardware with the unit to prevent the unit from tipping, causing any accidents

or damage. The tipping restraints are intended only as a deterrent, they are not a substitute for

proper adult supervision. The tipping restraints are not earthquake restraints. If you wish to add

the extra security of earthquake restraints, they must be purchased and installed separately.

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, Power Drill, 3/8” Drill Bit and Rubber Mallet.

Care and Maintenance

z Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting.

z Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous area.

z Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage your furniture’s finish.

z Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish.

z Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots.

z Liquid spills should be removed immediately. Using a soft clean cloth, blot the spill gently. Avoid rubbing.

z Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create

spotting within the furniture finish.

z Stains or marks from crayons or ink markers will be difficult to remove.

z In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged during use, we recommend that you call a

professional to repair your furniture.

z Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary.

It is best to keep your furniture in a climate-controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity

changes can cause fading, warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from

direct sunlight as sun may damage the finish.

Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Following these important and helpful

tips will enhance your furniture as it ages.

A Touch-up Pen has been provided to repair any small nicks or scratches that may occur during assembly or
