1 Product description
The egg collector module is part of the black soldier fly breeding system. The module consists of a bait box to
attract the flies to lay eggs in the egg collector cardboard and a screen that provides a protected area around
the egg collector.
The protection is a dual-purpose unit. One is to stimulate the egg-laying process of the black soldier fly as it pro-
vides protection and cover from the egg collector cardboard. It is an attempt to imitate a live scenario. The other
is to prevent dead flies from falling and landing on top of the meshed net frame of the bait box, as the presence
of dead flies can be mistaken as biological material for the flies to incubate their eggs.

It is used to collect black soldier flies’ eggs.
It consists of front and rear plate, a bait box with a net frame lid,and a sun
cover.
Order the cardboard piece separately [HxWxD] 135x15x240 intended to
collect eggs.SKOV does not supply it.

Check that all ordered parts are present and undamaged prior to starting the work. Read the directions carefully
before starting mounting.

Making a template is advantageous if you have to
mount many egg collector modules.
Make the template according to this drawing.
Remember always to use a spirit level.
Drill the 8x8.5 mm holes.
Saw the hole.
1 mm
Cut a countersinking of 1 mm for the back plate.
Mount the back plate in the drilled holes.
Mount the front plate and back plate using 8 PT
screws 3x6 TX 10.
Mount the net frame on the bait box.

Mount the sunscreen and bait box through the front
and back plate.
Mount the piece of paper. SKOV does not supply it.

4 Maintenance instructions
Clean the egg collector module after each batch. The egg collector module can be cleaned using an industrial
dishwasher or a high-pressure cleaner.
The product may be cleaned by a high-pressure cleaner without using:
• solvents
• corrosive/caustic agents
4.1 Recycling/Disposal
Products suitable for recycling are marked with a pictogram.
It must be possible for customers to deliver the products to local collection sites/recycling stations in accordance
with local instructions. The recycling station will then arrange for further transport to a certified plant for reuse,
recovery and recycling.
