Insulation EPS and XPS
For SpeedUp
Installation of additional insulation EPS / XPS
1
The substrate must be dry,
level and load bearing (Rough-
ness tolerance max. 3 mm/m).
2
Attach SpeedUp perimeter
insulation on the wall. Avoid
overlapping the ends.
Note!
Additional insulation ≥ 5 cm is
laid without perimeter insula-
tion but position the perimeter
insulation afterwards on the
additional insulation.
3
Lightly score corners of
perimeter insulation 3 cm from
below, inside corners from the
wall and outside corners from
room side.
4
Remove lap joints from the
first insulation panels to achieve
full coverage up to wall.
5
Lay insulation panels in a
staggered pattern and cross-laid
to the eventual direction of the
SpeedUp heat panels.
6
When cutting to fit the next
panel ensure that the lap joints
always. Only use whole panels
through thresholds.
7
Lighter constructions require
the insulation to be glued at
the perimeter, under SpeedUp
header panels and through
thresholds.
8
Second or third layers of insu-
lation must always be cross-laid
to the ones below. The last layer
must be cross-laid to SpeedUp
heat panels above.
9
Enclose pipe section (maxi-
mum width 30 cm according to
BEB/ZDB Information leaflet) and
fill up with bonded compound
level with insulation. Pipe sec-
tions with insulated pipes and
above 20 cm must be covered
with a 1 mm metal sheet.
Note!
For light floor constructions (e.g.
when laying laminate/parquet
directly on the heat panel and
all strongboard constructions)
pipe channels - in the additional
insulation - with a width of more
than 10cm must be covered with
a metal plate (min. 1 mm). If the
pipe channels have a width of
more than 15 cm a special load-
baring plate (min. 18 mm) must
be used.
10
Protect insulation from fre-
quent pedestrian traffic to avoid
damage.
