Aqara Home App Installation and Connection
1. App installation: Use an Android phone or tablet to scan the QR code or search for "Aqara Home" on Google
Play to download the app; use an iPhone or iPad to search for "Aqara Home" in the App Store to download the
app and install it.

2. User registration: Open the Aqara Home app, and then follow the app prompts to complete the user
registration when the app is used for the first time. The user can choose the server in the upper right corner
according to the current area.
*HomeKit mode: This mode means that users can skip Aqara's user account registration process and
directly add devices (devices will be added to Apple HomeKit), HomeKit mode can complete some
functions that cannot be done in Apple HomeKit, such as adding sub-devices to the camera, updating the
camera's firmware, etc., but users can not watch device video or use two-way voice intercom in this
mode (this mode is only supported by Apple terminals, such as iPhone and iPad).

3. Login to the app: Enter the registered account and password in the Aqara Home app to login.
4. Power on the device: Unpack the device and its power adapter. Connect them as shown in the figure, and
power on the device.
5. Open the Add Accessory page in the app: Open the Aqara Home app and enter the default room on the
homepage. You can add devices through the "Add Accessory" in the middle position and the "+" in the upper right
corner, or click the second icon "Accessories" at the bottom to enter the Device List page and then click the "+" in
the upper right corner to enter the Add Accessory page, as shown in the figure below:

6. Add accessory: Choose “Camera”, and then choose “Camera Hub G2H”.
7. Reset: After the device powers on, please observe the indicator light. When the red indicator light flashes,
use the reset pin to long poke the reset hole at the bottom for 5 seconds until the device plays the voice prompt,
"Reset successfully". After the device restarts, it will play the voice prompt, "Ready to connect. Please open the
Aqara Home app". Then, the user can check the relevant options and click "Next"

8. Configure Wi-Fi and password: Make sure that the device and the mobile phone are on the same
Wi-Fi network. Do not include any spaces or special characters like ‘, @, #, %, $, etc. in your Wi-Fi
name or password.The device only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks, not 5 GHz networks. After the
QR code is generated by the app, the camera lens should be aligned with the QR code of the mobile
phone and keep a distance of about 15cm until the device plays the voice prompt, "QR code scanning
successful. Please wait"-"Wi-Fi connected successfully"-"The account is bound successfully.
Welcome aboard". When all the three voice prompts are played, the device is successfully bound.
9. Edit device information: User can edit the device name and room name, and click “Done” to complete editing.

10. Bind devices to HomeKit (this prompt is only available on Apple terminals, such as iPhone and iPad). Click
"Bind now".
11. Choose home location: Choose the home location where the device needs to be bound, and then click "Next".

12. Scan HomeKit QR code: Align the camera with the HomeKit QR code on the base of the device until the
recognition is successful.
* If the QR code cannot be scanned in the above process, please refer to the following steps:
1) “Failed to add accessory
Due to multiple adding failures, the error information of the iOS cache cannot be removed. Please restart the iOS
device and reset the camera.
2) “Accessory already added”
After restarting the iOS device and resetting the camera, you can manually enter the HomeKit setup code and add
it again.
3) “Accessory not found”
Please wait for 3 minutes after resetting the camera. You can manually enter the HomeKit setup code and add it
again.

13. Configure the Video Stream mode: select the Video Stream mode of the device in the "Away/At Home" mode.
There are four modes: "Off", "Detect Activity", "Stream", and "Stream & Allow Recording".

14. Edit device information: Can edit the device name, the room or whether the device is added as a favorite
device on HomeKit.
15. View HomeKit video: Click the camera on the homepage of the "Home" app to view device video and use
two-way voice intercom.
*In order to realize remotely viewing video through the HomeKit app (such as using 4G network when the user
leaves home), you also need to configure an Apple home hub device (such as iPad, Apple TV or HomePod) in the
same LAN environment to remotely control HomeKit-enabled devices. For detailed settings of home hub, please

1. Homepage Features.
Back: Go back to the Homepage.
Name: Display the name of the current device.
More: Click to enter the more parameter settings page.
Bit rate: Display the bit rate of the current real-time video.
Definition: Can switch the resolution of the current real-time video. There are two manual modes:
ultra-definition and high-definition. If you select the Auto mode, the app will automatically switch the
resolution according to the network condition.
Sound: The sound transmitted from the front microphone to the app can be turned on /off, and it is off
by default.
Full screen: Click to switch to the full screen mode.

Date and time: Display the time of the server that the current device is connected with. You can switch
the time zone to synchronize the time according to the different areas. The display is turned off by
default and needs to be turned on in the settings.
Video status: Display the playing status of the currently video, and click to jump back to the live status.
Correlation event: This function can only be configured after the microSD card is inserted. The
associated event can be triggered by the sub-device, and the video can be marked in different colors to
facilitate positioning of different events.
Recording bar: When the microSD card is inserted into the device, the progress of the recording will be
displayed here. Normal recording is in light blue, event recording is in dark blue, and microSD card
recording will record audio at the same time.
Sleep/Wake up: Click to switch the device between the sleep mode and the wake-up mode. In the sleep
mode, the device will stop all video-related functions such as recording, real-time video, motion
detection, etc., but the hub function can work normally. When the camera function is not needed, the
device can remain in the sleep mode.
2-Way audio: Click to realize two-way audio between the app and the device.
Local recording: Click to record the current video screen and keep it in the phone's local album for at
least 5 seconds.
Screen shot: Click to take a screenshot of the current screen, and the picture will be saved in the phone's
local album.

2. More - Click the “...” in the upper right corner of the device homepage to enter the settings page.
Accessory Name: Can edit the device name.
Location: Can edit the room name where the device is located.
Bridged Accessories: Display the connected sub-devices under the current device.
Homepage Card: Can edit the device name on the homepage.
Album Management: Can view/edit the picture and video contents in the album.
More Settings: For more details, please refer to the third chapter.
Automation: Click to jump to the automation configuration page, set the automation trigger condition
and execution action in the form of IF...THEN..., and then add a certain type of sub-devices to set this
function, which depends on the hub function of the camera.
Scene: Click to jump to the scene configuration page. By adding a series of automation actions or
sub-device functions, they can be combined into a collection of functions that meet specific scenes, such
as in the leaving home scene, turning off lights and air conditioner, and turning on camera.
Manufacturer: Display the manufacturer name.
Accessory ID: Display the device ID.
Firmware Version: Display the current firmware version.
Remove Accessory: Remove the device. After the device is removed, it will disappear from the
homepage and the device list. Automations and scene execution that depend on the device will be
terminated, and the device will be restored to the network connection status.

3. More Settings-Camera Settings.
Status Light: The camera indicator light can be turned on or off, such as turning off the indicator light at
night to hide the camera position.
Mobile Date Protection: When this function is enabled, the video can be viewed via the mobile phone
without the Wi-Fi network connection, but the phone will not connect immediately to the mobile data
network. A confirm box will pop up to inform the user whether to use the mobile data to watch the
video.
Video Settings: For more details, please refer to the fourth chapter.
Language: Can switch the device to play the voice prompts, and support English, French, German,
Spanish, Italian, Russian and other languages.
Volume: The volume of the device speaker can be adjusted by sliding the volume bar (the volume of
voice intercom and alarm sound will be adjusted at the same time).

4. Video Settings.
Timing Watermark: Can turn on/off the date and time display in the upper left corner of the real-time
screen. The display is off by default.
Lens Correction: Can correct the image distortion at the edge of the image caused by the lens.
Image Rotation: When the camera is installed upside down, the image can be displayed normally by
adjusting the flip function of the screen.
Infrared Night Vision: Can support three modes of "Auto Switch", "Always ON", and "Always OFF".
Automatic switch means that the camera lens automatically controls the IR light to go on/off according
to the detected ambient illumination, and the image will change from color to black and white after the
IR night vision is enabled.
SD Card Status: Display the current working status of the SD card.
Storage Space: Display the total capacity of the card, used space, available space, etc.
Recording Mode: There are two modes of full-time recording and event recording, and recording can
also be turned off. Full-time recording means that the device is recording 24 hours a day (each recording

time is 1 minute). Event recording only records generated events (motion detection or sound detection)
time period, each event records 30 seconds.
Loop Record: Can automatically overwrite the earliest video and record the new video in a loop.
Motion Detection: After this function is enabled, when the camera detects a moving object, the device
will raise an alarm and push a short video. The video will be saved in the cloud.
Detection Region: The screen is divided into 24 squares. The user can manually configure the motion
detection area. A motion event in a non-selected area will not raise an alarm.
Sensitivity Detection: Three levels---high, middle and low.
Motion Detection Notification: After this function is enabled, the app will receive a push message when
the motion detection raises an alarm.
Abnormal sound detection: When a sound exceeding a certain decibel value is detected, the device will
raise an alarm and push a short video. The video will be saved in the cloud.
Sensitivity Detection: Three levels of decibel value---high, middle and low.
Detection period: Can set the daily detection period and the number of detection days per week.
Alert Frequency: 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes can be selected as an interval (to avoid frequent
push notifications when the alarm is continuously raised).

Screenshot/Recording: Can save screenshot and screen recording videos locally on the phone.
Push Video Notifications: Including short push videos generated by motion detection, sound detection,
and automation interaction. They are saved in the cloud. Each video is 12 seconds and can be saved for
up to 7 days.
Video message: The video message is saved in the cloud by long pressing the function button on the top
of the device for 3 seconds. Each video is 15 seconds and can be saved for up to 7 days.
Wi-Fi Name: The SSID name of the current connected Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi Strength: The strength percentage of the Wi-Fi signal received by the device.

RSSI: The Wi-Fi signal strength (unit: dB) received by the device.
Current Mode: Display the current video connection mode, divided into “P2P” and “relay” modes.
IP Address: The LAN address assigned to the device by the wireless router.
MAC Address: Ethernet physical address of the device.
Turn on password: Enter the password before opening the video in the app.
Change password: Modify the set video opening password.
