8. PROCEDURE
8.1. Turn the seat bottom up and using the drill with #5 drill bit,
drill THRU the seat at each of the 4 locations indicated in
the photo at right.
NOTE: Ensure that the thru holes are
drilled ONLY through the
positions indicated.
8.2. Insert the hex head nuts into the seat bottom.
8.3. Turn the seat over and install the base using the
Pan head machine screws, flat washers and lock
washers provided.
NOTE: Ensure that the etched
arrow on the base
faces forward.
NOTE: The short pan head
machine screws should be
placed in the aft holes.

8.4. Using the drill with 1/8” bit, drill a center hole at each of
2 forward and 2 aft positions on the seat
(see photos at right).
8.5. Using the Phillips head screwdriver,
insert a snap into each of the 4 holes
drilled in the previous step.
8.6. Place the cushion onto the seat so
that the two thin straps face
forward and the wide strap is aft.

8.7. Secure the cushion to the seat by attaching the forward
and aft straps to the snaps installed in step 8.5.
8.8. Place the measuring tape at the port radius of the
top of the forward bulkhead.
8.8.1. Using the pencil, make a mark at 16.5”
inboard from the radius.

8.9. Align bracket slightly below the top edge of the bulkhead
and center it on the mark made in the previous step.
8.10. Using the pencil, mark the bulkhead through the
bracket at the six (6) hole locations in the bracket.
8.11. Using the 5/32” drill bit w/countersink. Drill into the
bulkhead at the six (6) marks made in the previous
step.
NOTE: Slightly countersink to avoid gelcoat cracking.
8.12. Using the ¼” X 20 Tap bit, tap the reinforcement at
each of the six (6) holes made in the previous step.
NOTE: Keep tap perpendicular to the bulkhead surface.

8.13. Apply silicone to each of the holes made in step 8.4. as
well as the bulkhead in the area between the screw holes.
8.14. Using the six (6) ¼ x 20 x 1 ¼” flat head screws supplied,
secure the bracket to the bulkhead.
8.15. Insert the offset extension into the mounted bracket.
