1 Impor tant InformatIon on the safety and assembly
Assembly, installation and servicing must be carried out by an authorised electri-
cian.
Check the system for short circuits in the coaxial cables before starting up.
Beware of short circuits!
No liability is accepted for any damage caused by faulty connections or inappropri-
ate handling.
Observe the relevant standards, regulations and guidelines on the installation and opera-
tion of antenna systems.
The standards IEC/EN/DIN EN 61319-1, IEC/EN/DIN EN 60065 and IEC/EN/
DIN EN 60728 must be observed.
Do not perform installation and service work during thunderstorms.
The supplied AC/DC power adapter resp. USB cable must be used to power this
product. If the power cord becomes damaged, it must be replaced. Always refer
to qualified personnel. When disconnecting the product don’t pull the cable but the
plug to prevent damage of the cable (wobbly plugs and outlets result in fire risk). The
product shall be serviced by qualified experts only.
For a complete disconnection from the mains, the AC/DC power adapter must be
pulled out of the mains socket. Ensure that the AC/DC power adapter can be pulled
out without difficulties.
This product is for indoor use in moderate climates only.
In case of the formation of condensation wait until the device is completely dried.
Never expose the device to liquids or splashing water. Do not place any vessels
containing liquids on the device.
Do not place anything on the device which could initiate fires (e.g. candles).
This product contains no user serviceable parts. The unit should only be opened or
repaired by qualified service personnel.
Electronic devices should never be disposed of in the household rubbish. In accordance
with directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and the European Council from
January 27, 2003 which addresses old electronic and electrical devices, such devices
must be disposed of at a designated collection facility. At the end of its service life,
please take your device to one of these public collection facilities for proper disposal.
2 technIcal descrIptIon
General
With the SUP programmer, you can change the programming of a suitable
Unicable II device. The required PC software is only available for Windows
®
operating systems.
The SUCP Programmer is powered by an external power supply or via the USB
port.

Button Transmit / Validate
Transmit: Short press (<1s) transmits a stored configuration to the ODU to
be programmed.
Validate: Long press (>1s) reads the configuration from ODU and com-
pares with a configuration stored in the programmer. If both configura-
tions are identical the Status LED will turn green.

4 InItIal operatIon
4.1 InstallInG the pc soft ware and drIver
Before you connect the Unicable II programmer to your PC, follow the steps
below to install the PC software and the driver.
Download the Unicable_II_Programmer.zip file from:
http://www.mygss.eu > > Unicable II Programmer
and unzip it on your PC.
Start the "Unicable_II_Programmer Setup.exe".
Follow the instructions on the screen.
After the installation you will find a "Unicable II Programmer" start
icon on your desktop.
After you have installed the PC software, connect the Unicable II
programmer to your PC via a USB cable.

If the driver installation failed, install the driver for the programmer
manually as described in file "SUCP_Programmer_driver_installation.
pdf" (included in the .zip file).

Programming device can be supplied via the USB connection.
Programming device connected to ODU:
The 12V AC/DC adapter is required for programming the ODU.
Connect the USB socket

to your PC via the USB cable.
Start the PC Software by double click on the Unicable II Program-
mer Icon on your desktop.
—> If the programmer is not recognized, a notification will be displayed
during the program start.
"Programmer is not answering"
In this case, please make sure that the programming device is pow-
ered, properly connected to the PC, and that the drivers have been
installed. Then restart the Unicable II Programmer PC software.

5. create / edIt a confIGUratIon
There are two different ways to edit a configuration:
5.1 create a new confIGUratIon
Select "Task" -> "Create a configuration" if you want to create a new con-
figuration.
5.2 edIt an exIstInG confIGUr atIon
Select "Task" -> "Edit a configuration" and then decide if you want to load...
– an existing configuration from a file,
– the configuration of a connected device or
– the configuration stored in the programmer.

5.3 confIGUr atIon
The programming possibilities depend on the device to be programmed.
Please refer to the online help in the "Help" menu.
The created configuration can be ...
– saved as a file on your PC with button .
– stored in the Programmer with button , in order subsequently
to programme further devices without a PC or to compare the program-
ming.
– send to a connected Unicable II device with button .
—> The status LED flashes during the transmission.

The checkbox provides a graphical representation
of the output bands.
test a confIGUr atIon
Via menu "Task" > "Test a connected device" several tests can be done.
The tests refer to the output to which the programmer is connected.
Please refer to the online help in the "Help" menu.
