Before beginning this installation,
please read through this entire instruction booklet
The Vortech 2015-2018 Mustang GT Fuel Pump Booster (FPB) upgrade was designed
specifically for use on 2015-2018 Ford Mustang GT vehicles equipped with a turbo-
charger, supercharger or nitrous oxide, to support applications with increased horsepow-
er over the basic kit. As with any power enhancing product, this unit is intended for use
on healthy, well-maintained engines. Vortech Engineering is not responsible for engine
damage. Installation on new vehicles will not harm or adversely affect the break-in peri-
od so long as factory break-in procedures are followed.
For best performance and continued durability, please take a note of the following key
points:
1. Use only premium grade fuel 91 octane or higher (R+M/2).

Fig. 1-b: Unplug Battery Leads
B. Remove the battery cover and unplug both bat-
tery leads.
(See Fig. 1-b)
C. In order to access the fuel pump driver module,
it will be ncessary to remove the lower rear

A. Prior to unplugging the battery, you will need to
roll down both windows. This is done to prevent
potential window damage as both windows rest
within a channel in the body of the vehicle
when they are rolled up.
(See Fig. 1-a)
Fig. 1-a: Roll Down Windows
NOTE: The provided mounting bracket for the fuel
pump booster is not compatible with con-
vertible vehicles at this time. Please con-

2. FUEL PUMP BOOSTER INSTALLATION
A. Located near the driver side seatbelt assembly
is a flat surface where the fuel pump booster
will be mounted. Using the fuel pump booster
mounting plate as a template, mark your drill
holes. Align the edge of the fuel pump booster
mounting plate with the edge of the flat mount-
ing surface. Mark the two mounting holes, then
center punch the marks. Using a #4 drill bit,
drill out the two mounting hole marks. Be sure
to use a sharp drill bit.
(See Fig. 2-a)
B. Attach the fuel pump booster to the mounting
plate using the supplied four 10-24 x .50 socket
head screws, four 10-24 nylock nuts , and four
#10 flat washers. Install the assembly to the
vehicle and secure using the two provided #14
hex head self-tapping screws.
(See Fig. 2-b)

Fig. 2-b: Mount Fuel Pump Booster
NOTE: Although a #4 drill bit is optimal for this
step, you can subsitute it with a 7/32" drill
bit if necessary.
C. Locate the provided fuel pump booster adapter
harness and install it in-line between the OEM
fuel pump driver module and main vehicle har-
ness. Connect the fuel pump booster to the fuel
pump booster adapter harness.

E. 2015-2017 Model-Year Vehicles: Using a
10mm socket, Remove the ground screw on
the right side of the OEM fuel pump driver
module. Locate the black ground wire with the
ring terminal from the fuel pump booster and
ground it to the same location as the OEM fuel
pump driver module. Resecure using the previ-
ously removed screw.
(See Fig. 2-e)

4. FINAL CHECK
A. Confirm that all connections are properly insu-
lated and secure from creating any shorts.
Make sure all wires are properly secure with
clamps or tie-wraps.
B. Make sure all wires are routed away from hot,
moving or sharp objects.
C. Use a wide band O2 sensor to verify a proper
air/fuel ratio (Vortech suggests 11.0:1 for 91
octane pump fuel.) Check ignition timing to
make sure it is properly set before commencing
test drive.
D. Keep in mind that this manual does not
address air/fuel or ignition timing consider-
ations.
E. Test drive the vehicle.
F. Always listen carefully for engine detonation.
Discontinue heavy throttle usage if detonation
is heard.
WARNING: Do not attempt to operate the
vehicle until all components are
installed and all operations are
completed including the final
