Skov DA 1200 Light Trap

The Skov DA 1200 Light Trap is a device used to prevent daylight from entering through fresh-air inlets. It consists of a flange and the light trap itself.

1 Product description

The DA 1200 light trap is used in connection with fresh-air inlets
to prevent daylight from entering through the inlet. The light trap
consists of a flange and the actual light trap.
2 Mounting guide
The mounting guide includes a guidance for mounting of both the light trap and the flange for light trap.
If the light trap is mounted by a brick-in inlet, the distance to the
overhang of the building must be min. 100mm.
If the light trap is mounted by the flange inlet, the wall thickness
must be min. 50mm.

Drive out the two round pieces with a hammer and a screw driver.

Drive out the two oblong pieces with a hammer and a screw
driver.

Drill six holes, diameter 6mm, as marked.
Choose first/second hole depending on the wall around the wall
inlet.

Fill silicone into the groove of the flange.
NB: Use the flange for marking out the holes in walls of
concrete or bricks, before filling silicone into the groove.

Mount the flange around the wall inlet, the end with the pieces
driven out must turn downwards, enabling any water to run out.
NB: It is important that the cut edge of the wall is above the inner
side of the flange bottom to prevent water from running into the
wall, see Figure 9.
Tip: Mount one flange in each end of the building and stretch a
line between the flanges.

Fasten the flange with screws and washers in the drilled-out holes.
Concrete wall:
Use 6 mm wall dowel, 4x40 chipboard screw and Ø4 face plate
when mounting on concrete wall.
1) Drill a Ø6 mm hole.
2) Insert a rawlplug into the hole.
3) Hammer the rawlplug as far as it will go into the hole.
4) Fasten the flange with the 4x40 chipboard screw and Ø4
face plate.
Sandwich wall:
Use tapping screw 5x16 flange when mounting on sandwich
panels.
1) Drill a hole according to the table below.
2) Fasten the flange with the tapping screw 5x16 flange.

On a rough front joint the flange on the outside.
On a front with trapezoidol sheets use asphalt impregnated foam
blocks and joint filler.
SKOV A/S recommends Sikaflex AT Connection or MS polymer
1 component or equivalent.

Fit the light trap on the flange.
The arrow must turn upwards.

Note that the top and bottom wing is on the outside, while the
middle wing is on the inside.
