Room Heating System

1 Product description

Heating systems from SKOV A/S to be installed in livestock houses are available as room heating. The

installations are water-based room heating systems at section level. The finned tubes are made of high quality

boiler steel pipes according to EN 10216-2 and fins EN 10204/2.2, which are continuously and fully welded on

the steel pipe. The finned tubes are provided with hot dip galvanizing and standard pipe threading in both ends.

The finned tubes have been tested at the Danish Technological Institute and at the Danish Agricultural

Research Facilities, which certifies the high emission of heat. The finned tubes come in standard as 1” and 1½”,

both in 1 meter, 3 meter and 6 meter lengths.

Room heating can be controlled by the SKOV climate controller.

The heating system in the individual section typically includes some or all components mentioned below:

Room heating unit (heat control/mixing loop) for room heating

Heat-emitting devices for room heating, finned tubes/smooth tubes

Components for tubing system, supports, fittings, air vents, insulation, etc.

The on/off room heating unit from SKOV for regulation of room

heating is delivered ready-assembled on a stainless mounting plate

and includes circulation pump, solenoid valve, automatic nonreturn

valves, block valves, dirt trap and thermometers.

This is an on/off version. The solenoid valve is regulated by means of

a control signal from the SKOV climate controller.

You need one unit per section/regulation area.

The 0-10V room heating unit from SKOV for regulation of room

heating is delivered ready-assembled on a stainless mounting plate

and includes circulation pump, control valve, automatic nonreturn

valves, block valves and thermometers.

This is a stepless version. The motor-operated valve is regulated by

means of a 0-10V control signal from the SKOV climate controller.

You need one unit per section/regulation area.

The cover is not a fully sealed and tight solution, but only meant as a

protection against a highpressure cleaner.

The expansion is to absorb pipe expansion in the lengthwise direction

as a result of heating and cooling of the tubes. By steel tubes

remember to incorporate expansions in connection with all straight

tube lengths exceeding 35m.

Automatic device for air bleed of the piping system. Is mounted and

positioned on the piping where entrapped air may accumulate - that is

to say in positions high up like for instance pipe overpasses at house

3.2 Additional

3.2.1 Heat exchanger for high-pressure cleaning

Heat exchanger for high-pressure cleaning

439483 Heat exchanger XB04-1 60 plates w. hose

Used to heat the water, e.g. to be used in connection with a high-pressure

cleaner. Contact projecting department in SKOV concerning dimensioning.

This SKOV heat exchanger which is positioned at the beginning of the

system is designed to pre-heat cleaning water for high-pressure cleaners

ensuring an attractive alternative to hot-water pressure washers.

The heat exchanger has a water capacity of up to 60 l/min. Available, ready-

assembled on a stainless mounting plate with a stainless cover and flexible

connection hoses. The unit is easy to maintain and is provided with a dirt

collector and shut-off valves as well as a Danfoss AVTB valve with coated

capillary tubes which ensure high efficiency.

4 Mounting guide

Before installing the heating system

Check that the ordered parts have been received and that they are in undamaged condition before commencing

the installation process.

Read the directions carefully before commencing erection.

Use packing twine and joint paste for all joints.

The installation must be carried out by a specialist and according to current national and EU regulations.

Before start-up of the Room heating unit, fill up the system with water.

4.1 Room heating unit

A room heating unit includes the following components

3. Mounting plate

4. 0-10 V actuator and 2-way control valve

5. Nonreturn valve

6. Thermometer face

7. Circulation pump
