These instructions are only intended for use by properly trained and qualified service technicians.
If you do not have technical training for this product, you should read the following procedure, in its entirety, to
determine if you have the necessary tools, instruments and skills required to perform the procedure. Procedures for
which you do not have the necessary tools, instruments and skills should be performed by a trained Hobart Service
technician.
The reproduction, transfer, sale or other use of this manual, without the express written consent of Hobart Service,
is prohibited.
WARNING
Disconnect the electrical power to the machine and follow lockout / tagout procedures.
If unit back is against a wall, unit will require disconnection from any tables to access rear cover panel.
Disconnect water source from machine and follow lockout / tagout procedures.

REMOVE REAR COVER PANEL

Single Rear Cover Panel Split Rear Cover Panel
1. Locate and remove two screws on lower frame. 1. Remove top trim cover (2, Fig. 3), rear upper trim panel
(4, Fig. 3), and rear side trim panel (3, Fig. 3).

2. Remove screw(s) on side(s) of rear cover panel.
NOTE: CDL or EDL screws will only need to be removed with single rear panel.

HOOD SPRING REMOVAL
1. Remove screws from the top cover of rear panel and lift the hood up a bit to remove the top cover plate.
NOTE: This step only pertains to units with a single rear panel.

2. Slide rear cover panel out and away from machine.
NOTE: This step only pertains to units with a single rear panel.
3. Raise and support door to decrease door spring tension (Fig. 6).

4. To reference a starting adjustment point for new springs, measure distance of open threads on threaded spring
hook (1, Fig. 7) prior to loosening nuts.
5. Loosen nuts on threaded spring hook (2, Fig. 7), releasing tension on spring.

6. Disconnect spring from hook (3, Fig. 8).

7. Reassemble in reverse order.
NOTE: Lubricate spring hook shoe and handle support bushings prior to reassembly (4, Fig. 9).

ADJUST DOOR SPRINGS
1. Adjust spring tension.
NOTE: Door should stay closed when down, and stay up when opened.
NOTE: Tighten if door does not stay up when opened.
NOTE: Loosen if door does not stay closed when down.
2. Add or remove shims (5, Fig. 10) on inside of door handle welded 'C' brackets (6, Fig. 10) to center door handle
to door.
NOTE: Door levers should not rub sheet metal when raising or lowering door.
3. After door handle and levers have been centered, remove shims.
NOTE: Shims are only used for centering and not for operation.
